Melbourne's stadium didn't explode after the first synthesizer notes? Wtf?

Nope... Few recognised it. A sad moment.

Mercy (even in the poor mans 2010 version)/Bad = best "guess the song spot combo"

Oh thank god we finally have a main set. bono_man2002 came through for us!

:) we're just dicking around . . . I am from fine bogan stock . . .grew up and went to Uni in western Sydney, family is there as well as a bunch of family and friends in boganville centres dotted all over oz . . . sorry to offend you.

my first visit to parramatta saw a couple wandering the main street with a woodstock and coke can in hand at 3pm.

but i've seen the same thing in downtown auckland, so who knows.

Well I live in western Sydney and have family here and in areas of Qld mentioned. And whilst personally I'd say I'm at least middle class, many of my friends and family are blue collar workers and probably what you'd consider bogans.

But living in this area and understanding how lower socioeconomic environments can still result in some really genuine, likable, hardworking people (often moreso than the privileged). I take offense and some comments made here tonight. They're unnecessary in a forum discussing set lists.

Can I loan you a sense of humour?

On a serious note, surely you realise there is quite a difference between being working class and being a bogan. One side of my family is very working class and comes from a part of New Zealand that could be termed a bit of a bogan paradise. Some of them are bogans, most of them aren't, they're just good, working class people (living on both sides of the Tasman) making the best of a shonky socio-economic position and a history of governments that don't care.

So don't try to talk to me about not understanding lower socio-economic areas and failing to distinguish between ordinary working class folk and the ratty forms of boganity.

Reception is fine in the stadiums but because so many people are using their phones texts don't go through for at least 30 mins after you send them, if at all.

Yeah, it seems a number of people have had problems, yet all my tweets from Etihad (to a UK number!) went through quickly.

proof positive that bogans are everywhere no doubt

i will admit bogan is a term way too easily thrown around on these forums.

in context of tonight, we really mean queenslander. but the difference is minimal.

and another new monitor plis

the second nights will have to be more mixed up or else the sales will fall...

Not true at all... 90% of the people going to these gigs are casual fans so the setlists have no bearing on sales whatsoever.

Lolwhat? You're joking right? Or are you really convinced that every fan that goes to shows is checking the setlists of every show up to theirs online. And that they're dissapointed when they get Bad and Mercy because they've been played before?

yes i agree, but casual fans get boored sometimes too, so alitle mixed setlsit woudn't be problem...
AIWIY has ben rehersed many times but stil didnt come in, it could easyl
been in stil havent place or pride slot..
and couple of songs that appared only once could do trick
or shake up the middle set....

from the perspective of your argument, no.

as a u2 fan, a shakeup would be nice.

still absolutely hilarious. there was a video filmed next to me of hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me. hopefully this showed up.

will attempt an upload asap.

Please do. I can look for it later today when I am back online...gonna go try and sneak another hour or so of sleep before my son wakes up and the hubby is off to work.

Casual fans get bored not because of the static set, but because U2 insist on playing songs like IALW. They just want to hear big radio hits and don't give a shit what order it's in.

And the only 100% confirmed AIWIY rehearsal is today. There was supposedly a rehearsal in Europe but that's been disputed.

The setlist IS mixed for the casual fan... They don't know any different.

Have you seen any shows this tour? NO WAY should still haven't found be dropped, the crowd love it.

You folks won't believe this, but the show's over. NO MOS. Show closed with WOWY.

Lang Park's strict curfew strikes!

Same with One, Streets, SBS and WOWY. Because people come to shows to hear those songs...

I love it when people lose perspective like this. How do they expect a show to look bored when they sit behind their computer each night to check on the setlists, and no experience it themselves in the stadiums.
