Obviously, U2 has played arenas during basketball and hockey season. The OP wanted to know about playing in football stadiums during football season. And, well, if they can manage to fit concerts into busy arenas, they can fit concerts into stadiums that are empty for 2-3 weeks.

There that's beaten to death.

Chances are high I'm traveling to the Netherlands for a work/family visit in July.
Just hoping the Dutch show/shows isn't/aren't on the same date/dates as my work conference meeting.

I'm waiting for the official tour announcement to see what might work. My girlfriend and I have already discussed making a trip to Europe to see them.

A U2 show is about the only thing that would make me willing to brave a transatlantic flight from LA with my 2 and 3 year old kids - (arggh). Saw them 16 years ago in Dublin and haven't been back since - would love to do it this year.
