What was the problems with the GA line? What happened?
this is what happens when the line is controlled by the idiots who decide to line up 48 hours early.

i've been down to navy pier, walking around in a daze that i'm in chicago and about to see u2. heading down to soldier field very shortly. 300 section behind the stage represent! if you want to say hi, pm khan and she'll get the email on her phone, lol. or something. whatever. i don't care!

I shoulda been at this show! JEALOUS! Everybody have a tremendous time, can't wait to hear all about it! (I'm GA at Toronto 2 on Thurs.) Hope the line there goes better than at Soldier Field.

does anyone know if there were two ga lines? from some of the euro shows it looks like they allowed people to line up for either inner or outer ga. or was that just a rumor?

thanks, lauramullen

from the twitpic of the line looks like it was just one big mess in Chicago. Hoping it's better organized for Boston1. Is it crazy to hope they'll have official numbered wristbands there like they did for the last two arena tours? That would make it much easier on everyone.
(I see we're gonna be at some of the same shows: BOS1, BOS2, NJ1, NJ2 and Vegas!).

Boston was the best organized of all 9 concerts I saw on Vertigo, you're right!
They gave you a numbered wristband and told you to return at 4pm or 5pm (don't remember)

yep, san jose arena did that too. there was last minute drama one of the nights but for the most part very well organized. plus you're not a disaster from being in line all day.

me too! And yes, it better not be a disaster...

Ok....got back to hotel 15min ago and caught up on this thread

Don't have energy to read setlist party thread since I was actually there

First....I did not bail on chris. I wanted to get there to see the first group of people get into the stadium

They sectioned people off in blocks of 150-200 along the ga line. Then they moved each sectoon forward...it didn't look too bad, i have video of this too. The line was long...I have video of me walking along the ga line..I think it took over 2 minutes. Maybe I will upload it someday

once they started letting people in, everyone in line was in by 510pm. The first people were let in around 450

I had to wait because chris took FOREVER to get to the stadium....we all walked in at 530....we could have been maybe 10-15 feet from the walkway had we sat down and claimed our spot....not bad I say

The line for tonight (since its 1237 right now) has already started....clowns

I am off to freebase some advil

Back to the hotel... what a night! Concert was wonderful, Bono's voice was as good as I've ever heard it.

GA lines were a disaster. Lots of pushing and shoving, shocked no one was injured. The kicker was that as I talked to the two people to each of my sides at the inner back rail on Edge's side... one got in the GA line at noon, the other at 4pm. I was there at 6am. I'm not complaining about it, just pointing out that once the sections in front are filled, you can easily get a prime spot (and we had one) without camping all day.

I"m so frustrated with the buses and the time it took to get back. I've decided not to even go the 2nd show. I hope I can find a taker for my GA. Bad planning on my part. No way I can get back to my car at 2am ET and drive home without being miserable for the whole week.

Won't dampen my night though. As I said, one of their best concerts I've been to.

A couple of funny moments. Edge's delay didn't kick in at the beginning of Bad. He kept looking at Dallas til he got it. Also on another song, I forget which one (may have also been Bad, Edge had a priceless look on his face as one of the strings was out of tune.

Nite all!

Catching up on posts... there was one line, as Dan said they let about 150-200 in at a time. It was a nightmare and a free for all. Made camping all day basically useless. I had folks in the 2nd wave push in ahead of me.

On a side note, I thought Snow Patrol was, well, Magnificent. First time seeing or hearing them. Lead man seems to have a near Bono-like stage presence.

Someone else said it, but seeing the Claw online vs. in person is like watching porn vs. having sex :combust:

I'll post more once I'm coherent again.

I dead tired, between the airline disaster, GA mess, and baking in the sun for 12 hours, but I'm so very deliriously happy. I enjoyed hanging out with the boys again ;)

OH, Crazy Tonight remix kicks all kinds of ass live.

Quick question , too late at night and don't want to read every page of the thread, but how early did everyone line up at?

my GA tickets are tomorrow. had seats tonight. awesome gig.

The line officially started at 6am.

ETA: A few hundred people were lined up by 6. It grew rapidly from there.
GA lines were a disaster. Lots of pushing and shoving, shocked no one was injured.

A girl in front of us took a tumble as we were all making the mad dash into the inner circle. It was ridiculous and unecessary for things to be that out of control.

And the transportation, yeah. We walked for an hour before we found a cab. I'm sure there are people still wandering the streets, looking for a way home right now.

Guys, did they play "Crazy tonight" ? Was it the remix version?
