How long is the drive from the Strip to Sam Boyd?

I think with traffic it will be impossible to predict.

It shouldn't be more than 30 minutes normally.

On the Friday night of Vertigo, it took me an hour to get from the Silverton Casino to the Courtyard Conv. Center. F-n Ridiculous!!! It cut into my drinking time!

Hey all,

I booked my room at the Rio today...I'm staying Tuesday through Saturday. I noticed that rooms were more expensive and generally less available than normal. What else is going on in vegas next week?

Mike

Everlast, Steve Miller Band, Bette Midler, Brand New and (for the Canadians in the crowd) Gordon Lightfoot will also be performing that weekend! LOL!

I was on twitter and searched Vegas Oct. 23 and a whole list of events came up--even a conference for The American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals – wtf?
Las Vegas Live (LasVegasLive) on Twitter

ps my friends and I bought tickets to see Love at the Mirage on Saturday night if you wanna come too...the more the merrier!

Since I HAVE to have every bit of information possible, :hyper:, I called UNLV about the GA policy. Talked to a woman named Stephanie who was very nice. She said they haven't been handed a policy yet, but to check back on Friday and they should have something by then.
I was telling her how there have been a couple hundred people in line by 8am for the last couple of shows. She said she wasn't sure if there would be a wristband policy or not-still being worked on-but she didn;t rule it out. So maybe they're rethinking that one.
I asked if outside parking lot port o johns would be placed in lots the day before or day of. She said most likely day of. I mentioned how if people show up very early, there'd be people in need of bathrooms and maybe to put that on the list. she laughed and said she was taking some notes as we spoke. for bathrooms.
I also mentioned how the Boston show first told people they couldn;t be in line earlier than 3pm and how that was unrealistic, and they ended up changing it, and things went pretty smoothly.
I told her how OK had some policy stuff on their site and a web cam so you could watch the stage being built. She said to either watch the website or clal the ticket line for information Friday. (hopefully) I said she's probably get a few calls-she said she's been taking a lot. I told her it's because it makes people nervous to not have a set game plan, because people put a lot of time into going to these shows.
She was very nice and helpful. Open to suggestions. At least she can bring them up to others to incorporate into their plan. She said they hadn't done an event like this in a long time, so a lot of it is new to them.

Thanks for the info and for keeping us posted!

I am glad to hear you guys are packing too...I was doing laundry on Monday and I am already setting aside my fav jeans and tops. LOL! That is my favorite part. I am contemplating what shoes to wear to the concert...boots? runners? I am not in GA but I am not sure what to do...:hmm:
:blahblah:

I'll be wearing sneakers, jeans, t-shirt. I'm in GA, but even having a seat, I'd imagine you'd be standing for the show. Wear comfy shoes! I wore boots w/ a heel at a GA concert once-NEVER again. Felt like I had nerve damage we stood so long. They squashed us up in line so we couldn't sit at about 3pm. Concert started about 10pm. Ended about 1am.Those boots USED to be comfortable. They won't be in the bag for Vegas.
All my friends and I hobbled out after the show. Feet hurt for a week after that.
This was last New Years Eve. (should I mention it was a Goo Goo Dolls concert?) :reject:
but it was a LOT of fun other than the foot thing:wink:

In my old age I choose comfort over slutty cute

Seriously. It's always the challenge with going somewhere fun where you want to dress up. Wear awesome sassy shoes .... or be able to walk further than fifteen feet on the pavement?

Comfort wins.

oh, good, because I've been wondering about the Nine Fine gathering. It looked pretty posh in the photos-but maybe that's just Vegas?
I'll be around the strip all day before going to the gathering, so will probably opt for comfort. :hmm:

And those boots that hurt my feet? They weren't even that slutty

:D

 I have gained that wisdom as well.

I was actually going to throw the shoe thing out here myself, that is really my biggest wardrobe decision, my converse or trainers? I remember dray posting and suggesting the gel inserts, so I think if I put those in whichever shoe, I am good! Jeans never fail.

I'll definitely be wearing comfortable shoes to the concert, but to the party? I'll probably break out the pretty heels. I don't plan on doing much walking that night, but we'll see. :D

Hey gang - I have had a change in lodging, and now have an extra reservation at the uber-reasonable siena suites. Before I cancel I thought I'd see if anyone wants it - I just emailed and they said I can transfer it to another party. Anyone?

I was scraping ice off the windshield this morning
Has anyone been inside the pit before? Wondering if you can still see the band if you have a few heads ahead of you, as the stage is so high?

I feel your pain on the ice scraping thing. Same here.

I had a tall drunk guy in front of me in the pit in Boston. I could not see a thing - until of course he started to feel sick and kept bending down. then the view was great!

Hi all. New to Interference. Not to u2. Three of my friends and I are heading to Vegas for the show there. We'll head over to Irishmen and kick back a few Guinnesses and Jameson shots and have a grand ol' time on Thursday night. Hope to meet some other u2 fans out there as well.:D
