WTF?????

WTF happened with these guys? I saw the Miami show and thought bleh :|

Usually we joke about The Edge being on fire but he was Blazing last night . For me it would be fair to say from the beginning he kinda took this concert over.

The Band sounded incredible even Bono was fantastic. The crowd was way into it.

Other than being 120 degress, out of the 26 shows I've seen this might have cracked my top 5 (yes, bold statement).

Not to defend new Jersey transit... my ride home was actually very smooth and easy... but do you really think letting 10,000 people bum rush the trains is a good idea?

It's a hard situation getting out of there, but they made it much much better than the last time, and it's not as if they didn't warn everybody a million times leading up to the show.

Agreed. From a safety perspective the last thing you want to do is pile up people on the platform before the train arrives. It took me a half hour waiting before I was able to get on a train, but that was to be expected and it was fairly orderly, considering the many thousands descending upon it at once.

In DC after Nationals games, they pile on the platform but make you move down to fill in all the space and to utilize all the doors.

Interesting?

First time doing GA and here are my thoughts:

Got in the GA line at 4:30pm and once he gates opened at 5:00pm, the line moved well and we were in. I was so overwhelmed being on the field and seeing the stage that close. We got a spot in the middle but to the side against the rail which was next to the claw. Up till about 8:00pm, we had some space to move but once U2 took the stage we were packed in and dint have much space. The people around us were pretty cool but during COBL and "tank" of a man who was with his wife plowed through everyone(he was piss drunk) and people started yelling at him and one lady threw a beer at him but it hit me :( . He only lasted two songs then security jumped the rail and escorted him out.

My view was pretty good, since I was only about 7 rows of people behind the outer rail but I found that I watched the screen most of the time due to an occasional "head" being in my view.

The good: How close we were to the outer stage.....wow.
The bad: it was too packed and it was HOT

I wouldn't do GA again but I can see why people like it and I respect that. Great show last night and U2 fans ARE the best fans in the world.

What a show last night. Best 360 show I've attended.

Couldn't agree more. Last night and 2009 were like day and night. It was all very smooth, I thought. And for anyone that attended a show at Gillette Stadium, the Meadowlands transportation system is like heaven....

Interesting?

Empty tracks, lots of people on platform (especially fairly low to the tracks) - greater chance of somebody getting onto those tracks, whether by accident or drunkeness.

Makes sense now.

However, in DC I'm surprised how more people don't fall onto the tracks especially when we have to deal with tourists here whom have never ridden mass transit!

This was an awesome show. GA in the pit, slightly right of center on Adam's side. Had 5 other people with me so we cleared out some room and made friends with the rest of the crowd surrounding, so we weren't sardines at all. Got to the parking lot around 4pm or a bit earlier. Smooth ride in over the Verrazano, Goethals and Tpke. It was very sunny, not too humid though but 4 of us went through a 24 pack pretty quickly. Cranked out a few drunken posts from the parking lot then at 5:30 we started the walk from J6 to the doors. The moment of truth- were the 4 tickets I bought from the shady guy on Craiglist legit? We get to the scanning people and all 4 of us got an X that said invalid on the scanner. I was the last one to go. The scanning guy says you need to go over to the ticket booth and get them validated. SHIT. Right next to us, another person not in our party got the same X, but a manager type guy comes over, scans it and says let her through. I hop right on and make it as if we're with her and he lets us in. I'm guessing the scumbag who sold the tickets to me must have got a refund.

We grab some more beer, head into the pit and met a group of real cool people. Hung out drinking, talking and my cousin shows up at around 7/7:30. I was thinking there's no way he's gonna get into the pit so late, but they walked right in. Show finally starts at 9:20 with our whole crew going apeshit for the first 5 or 6 songs. (They slightly died out when the new stuff came on). Much better opening than the 2009 shows!

Loved seeing Zooropa live finally. Great performance. A couple of times through the night Bono had heat problems. The first I think was introducing Stay. He looked like he was about to vomit and said Edge, finish explaining I gotta do something and ran off the back of the stage. Edge talked for a bit then Bono came back to finish by explaining the song was first called Sinatra. Edge then accidently starts Stuck in a Moment. Everyone laughs and Bono corrects him. The next problem he had was right after Pride. he wanted a break and started walking to the bakc of the stage but Edge started Miss Sarajevo already so Bono came back and gave Edge some sarcastic shit about being a good buddy and bandmate and he needed a break. lol

He seemed a bit more subdued for some songs later- skipping some singing in spots but nothing too bad. He looked zonked through during Batman. he didn't move much at all. The smoke guy just deluged him for 90% of the song, then he finally got up on the wheel and gave a nice swing. I like Batman and was nice seeing it live again, but it doesn't have the energy of UV- crowdwise or performance wise. Wish we could have gotten both.

MOS predictably had people walking out, taking pictures with eachother as if the lights had already gone up. At the end I thought he'd do the rap but he took some paper out of his pocket, put it on the stage and read/ sang whatever was on it. I couldn't hear what though.

I thought they were done, I hadn't looked at the spoiler. The OOC. That got the pit going apeshit one more time. Very long show- glad I got The Fly and Magnificent instead of either/ or. Probably my best 360 show. I was pumped early and didn't pace myself. Voice was gone by Zooropa, felt like I got hit by a truck by With or Without You. Overall great show. Looking forward to the 2013 rumors!

That's not what I meant though. Of course they should've controlled the crowd, but effectively they DID let us bum rush the train instead of letting a certain amount of people queue up at certain spots on the track.

I don't know how you could possibly call that smooth and easy. I left from Philadelphia after the show and it took me just as long to get into Manhattan. There was tons of traffic on their subway as well (as you can imagine). East Rutherford is 12 miles out of Tribeca. Philadelphia is about 100 miles. Either way, I'd like to forget how lame of an experience everything was outside of the production itself, which was amazing.

That was an unbelievable show! It was unhumanly hot as I almost crapped out midway through the GA line lol..Out of all the shows I've seen this is was the first time I decided to suck it up and do GA and this was the weather I got  I wound up with my friend at the front rail with U2fanatic4ever and Skjuls and I'm glad I did as I had a great time with good friends despite the heat..Bono sang the end of Beautiful Day and threw his water on us which made up for all that was endured...Coincidentially we wound up meeting JCoster and her husband who happened to be standing next to us as it took awhile to put 2 +2 together :) A great show despite all the rude Europeans that were next to us and I had to battle out of my spot as one of them asked if she could take a quick picture then refused to leave  but overall a great time!

Last night was SOOOOOOO good! One of the bes t of the 16 or so shows I have seen.

AS far as security--I thought they were great--I saw them remove a few trouble makers who were wsqueezing their was in and causing issues at the last minute.

The people around us were pretty cool but during COBL and "tank" of a man who was with his wife plowed through everyone(he was piss drunk) and people started yelling at him and one lady threw a beer at him but it hit me :( . He only lasted two songs then security jumped the rail and escorted him out.

Saw some guy getting hauled out of GA, but didn't know what that was all about.

I wish the security in our area were this good, because they did nothing but say "chill" when the two drunken asses with a kid decided to push their way through and stop dead in front of us behind the people on the rail.

Prior to that everything was really cool with people chatting and saving each other's spot. Even after Interpol left the stage we still had quite a bit of space until the drunks arrived. And they had some bloody nerve insisting that they had been waiting all day and it was the kid's first show so it was okay for them to cut in front. In the end, those of us in the second and third row squeezed in front of them which meant that we were squashed, but at that point we didn't care. The solidarity made for a better show.

One funny thing happened before the drunks arrived. Some people were still sitting and this woman wonders over, stepping over people trying to get close to the rail. At first we thought she was with the people on the rail, but realized we had never seen her before. When questioned, she said she was looking for a spot where there were short people. When told that she couldn't stand in front of the people sitting, she then said she was looking for the seats because her GA ticket had a seat number on it.

Later during the show the drunk guy and the confused woman looking for her seat got into a heated argument with a lot of serious pushing a yelling. No clue what it was about, but I hope they were both miserable.

 you had a much different experience than I did I guess. I took the train, chilled on the floor taking pictures for 15 minutes or so, and was in my apartment on the upper east side in a little over an hour. Not sure what you were expecting.

Maybe you were just lucky enough to get out early.

To me it felt like those various scenes out of movies like 28 Weeks Later or I Am Legend.

Didn't get off of NJ Transit until about 1:30 a.m. at Penn Station.

Great show and an overall amazing day! I hung out with really cool Interference peeps and had a private meet and greet with Edge. We talked for over 20 minutes and it was so cool. I even got Bono to sign my sunglasses. You could tell he was fighting some type of heat exhaustion or dehydration. Looking back on the videos you can see it. By far one of my favorite shows. It makes me want to go on eBay right now and score tickets for Minneapolis!!

Charitybuzz.com. It is a great site for bidding on celebrity experiences. Every now and then a U2 item or package comes up. I can't say enough about how professional and kind the U2 staff were. Top notch. Here are the glasses Bono signed and the pass Edge signed.
