They arrived today, as did my flatmate's ticket. She is in total disbelief that it's true. Especially since he only asked for €10 or a beer. But the ticket is real and good. :D

I will contact the store to see how the shipping back is handled.
Over in the u2tour.de forum they say that the band didn't seem upset by the flying sticks. But on the other hand, if you get hit by such a stick, which apparently didn't happen, you will feel different about them as they can really hurt you. So I can understand the decision.

Just would love those idiots be banned from every stadium.

Rain is essential part of a U2 show, especially in Germany :D

But seriously, let's wait and see. They said it would rain in Milan as well and it didn't, only in the morning when I arrived.

I'd rather have dry weather, waiting in the rain sucks. If it's really pouring I don't think going to the stadium too early is an good idea. I remember in Munich 2005, it was the wettest concert I've ever been to, but as soon as the band came on stage, the rain was forgotten. Let's hope for the best.

I remain confident that the weather will be okay. It's still three days so all the weather forecast is still pure speculation.

Oh I don't mind a bit of rain, I'd prefer a bit on rain rather than a heatwave!:faint: But I agree, we don't need a constant downpour, like like the one we had at U2s Copenhagen 2005 gig. Although luckily me and Hanna had seating under the roofed stands! :D

Well, some of us didn't - but I had a BLAST anyway :hyper::hyper::hyper: ... I froooze so much until U2 went on ... But I've learnt my lesson - this time around I'll be a bit more prepared for anything that comes down ... :):hmm: But still - let's hope it will be dry ...

Yeah, me and Hanna felt very sorry for you guys on the field! Especially whenever the rain suddenly started to pour down even harder, we could hear you all moan out in unison! :uhoh:

And the weather's not looking good for Saturday Berlin! Even the Finnish weather news is predicting rain showers for Saturday in Berlin!! :tsk: Let's hope, that if we do get rain, that it'll just be light summer showers....

There will be more shows in the rain this tour, because the summer just sucks. It's nothing new. The last tour also had bad weather quite often. I have been at so many events with rain that I'm really used to it. Forecast says it won't rain all the time and if it rains, it will be only light rain, so let's hope we won't be standing in the rain for hours before the band comes on stage. I'll take my demolished shoes with me anyway, I will throw them away after the concert.

32 degrees on Friday, down to 15-17 degrees at 8pm on Saturday. Rain highly likely. Thats the negative part.

Positive is that we are all there for U2, we should enjoy the show with all the lights straight from the begining (with the stage being on the west part of the stadium, sun should be hidden behind the clouds and the stands).

Just bit worried about the traffic delays - flights, trains, autobahn... Hope all works well.

Staying in Kreuzberg district, taking the u-bahn U2 (!!!) line, with a quick stop for picture at the ZOOSTATION .... heading into the Red Zone. This all sounds unreal ... Living the dream. Two days to go.

^ That's right, but it wasn't raining at any of these concerts.

I take my shoes off completely if it gets too wet. No fun walking around in totally wet shoes.

One good thing is it won't be that hot. Today is hell in Vienna

Btw, I heard U2 will arrive on concert day and it's not sure if they'll stay in Berlin. Anyone knows anything? Will they be able to fly out so late after the show?

Flights are leaving from Schönefeld all night long, but Tegel is closed until 6am.

I hope they do. If so, they'll stay at the Adlon. Would be a nice sightseeing tip for Sunday. :hmm:

Btw, I want to buy the tour book after the concert, I didn't find it in Milan and the official merchandising wasn't great. I bought two of the better shirts, maybe I'll find a third one that's better in Berlin, but the tour book looks sweet, I want to have it. :D

It's about what was being referred to earlier. The S-Bahn is not running normally, hence you have to get going a little earlier if you depend on the S-Bahn. Only the circle line is going normal. The trains that serve, among else, the stadium run only every 20 minutes.

ETA: This just in: Today they had to stop three-quarters of their trains due to technical reasons. In the next hour the managment will introduce a new emergency plan. Will keep you updated.
Damn idiots!

Oh I'm definitely up for some 'sightseeing' on Sunday! :sexywink:

I don't know whether it's a good idea to wait until after the gig to buy merchandise, they might sell out of all the good stuff! I'm going to buy the tour program, a t-shirt, and maybe a badge or a keyring if there's one available.

To put it bluntly: all t-shirts were :barf:

And I'm also ready for a 'sightseeing trip' on sunday.
Oh and btw, I have a nice story about 'sightseeing'. Something really embarrassing happened when my sister and I left san siro. I wil tell you tomorrow...

Will I be stucked at the airport then?

Oh no, you won't. Just hope it doesn't infringe on our plans for meeting at the pub. If the trains don't run we will need a lot more time. But there will be connections from the airport to the city.

^Ok!
I really hate that when big events are happening and the city's local traffic is not running normally. The same happened in Milan. They have 3 metro lines and just in time (around 5 o'clock) when 50,000 people are leaving for the same direction, one of the lines closed. We were waiting like for ever because every train was totally overcrowded and nobody was getting out. After waiting for 6 trains I grabbed my sisters hand and just pushed her into the next train coming because we would have been really late otherwise.

Yeah, heard about that...

So ive rescheduled my plans - putting us U-bahned ... 5 pm as well ... guess see ya all there ...

Really? Did you bump into any of the band members?

I saw Bono in his van when we were walking to the subway station after concert no. 2. Police escort! Man, they were fast

Btw, what's up with the Berlin S-Bahn? That sounds even worse than Vienna, if that's even possible. Hope it will be possible to catch a train sometime on Saturday to get to the stadium. Otherwise: Subway, won't be too far away either, but the S-Bahn would just be super convenient for me.

Anna, at which airport are you arriving? I always arrive at Tegel and go by bus to the city, that's fast and stressless (unless there's a bus strike, which I experienced once, I think it was last summer).

In Vienna, we didn't even have a subway line going to the stadium until the Euro 2008 took place. They had to built the subway for the Euro and it got ready just in time. Before that, the traffic situation after big events was just terrible. I remember getting squeezed into one of the tramways after the U2 concert in 2005 and then gaving to walk home for about an hour because when I arrived at the subway station, no trains were leaving anymore since it was way past midnight. That's better now, thanks to our new ... U2 :D

The trains will run during the weekend. So at least we have some service.
It's a long depressing story what happened with the S-Bahn.

Anna will arrive at Schönefeld as that's the airport that's serviced by Germanwings.
