This is our only downfall fellow Croke Cranks. The show starts at 630 and sunset is not until 930. I'm hoping U2 dosn't take the stage until at least 730, I can tolerate the dusk. But There's not as much magic in the air during a day show as there is in a night show.

There's two acts before U2 hits the stage and breaks in between. Damien Dempsey and Glasvegas at D1 anyway. No way U2 will hit the stage at 7:30....I'd say 9. They've got so many lights & video screens in their stage set up it's going to have to be dark to see it.

Will there be a time that U2 has to end, like they do in the US? Not sure how it works in Europe...

You've really done your research wow but I'm the same as most fans I guess just as long as I'm there then that's all that really matters mind you I hope it doesn't rain!

I don't care what the weather is so long as it doesn't rain. But if it does rain, oh well...we'll just all be wet together. Cold and wet is not a good combination though. I think I'll shove one of those emergency blanket thingies or a big garbage bag or 2 in my bag just in case. You know those silver emergency blankets that come in emergency car kits-they're folded into a small square. That would keep me warm and dry in case of rain. I do have a hooded rain poncho but that would take up more room in my bag.

The best concert in the rain that I have been to was Outkast at Music Midtown here in Atlanta in the middle of summer. It was night with the city lights around us, dancing and thunder and lightening going off in the distance. What a blast it was. I saw Coldplay at Red Rocks in the cold rain, that was miserable because I ended up sick.

Haven't posted on here in ages...

This will be my 1st trans-continental vacation. It's been the most spontaneous thing I've done, ever. A friend is moving back to Ireland at the end of May.

She and another friend got me a ticket and are coming to the show. Our seats are on the right side at the top. But I'll be there! Hope to get tix for D1, even if I go by myself. I swear every couple of days I squee just a bit.:hyper:

Funny how this works.

You all don't care about the light

I don't care about the rain.

Think that would let the emotion in even more, and imagine the pouring down rain while U2 does MLK...............

One of my favourite concerts was Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers outside of Indianapolis during a tornado warning. The lightning took the power to the concert out 3 times and they continued to play. Lightning was everywhere and the rain was the heaviest I've ever experienced. And you have to understand seeing Tom Petty in INDY is like seeing U2 in Dublin. HOMETOWN CONCERT, more heart in it and the biggest crowds show up. That night, we broke a record for fan turnout to that specific venue of all time.

Great time.

I'm going to second show as well. Got ticket from one interferencer. Would love to meet you all there.:hyper: I'm probably going to be in Dublin for whole week before show.

This is totally ridiculous! I'm getting addicted to these threads about the Dublin gigs and I'm only travelling half a mile down the road to Croke Park!! The excitement is infectious!

U2 will come on stage between 8.45 and 9.15, and yes there will the normal noise curfew as Croke Park is slap bang in a residential area.

Now ....off I go to that other thread....:D

I don't know is the short answer. As far as I recall the Vertigo gigs stopped around 11.15 ish.

For some reason I thought that the curfew for Dublin was earlier. Guess not.
