I missed the close of the party. I'll wait to read reviews I guess...

BTW, thanks to those who posted & updated the setlist, etc. And a special thanks to Aaron Rodriguez, whoever he is :applaud:

Oh and to Steve :madspit:

Always good to know that most of the people complaining are online.
naturally, being there would have been amazing. anyone complaining is all too aware of that, but let's face it - we know what they're capable of with the newer songs, and if i'd been there i'd have derived much less enjoyment out of this show (although, still plenty of enjoyment) than others where no line and unknown caller were played.

That's why I said most and not all. I too would have noticed and been a bit disappointed at the omission of these songs if I was at the show.

Great show ... great setlist. Got in and out quickly (despite staying 15 minutes after the end) because I know the stadium area well. I suspect some people had multi-hour waits getting in and out though. Will post more photos later.

1. Bono scratched his ass in full view of everyone.

2. During "Ultraviolet", apparently a guy on the floor passed out. He appeared to have been revived and escorted to safety. I say "apparently" because I did not see it; I only saw his friends rushing up to the front of the stage and asking for assistance from security.

:hmm: I was on the floor (inner circle for half) and saw neither - maybe it was on the other side. Bono did have a problem with his wireless mic pack, which had to replaced.

The show itself was pretty solid.

During City of Blinding Lights, Bono pulled up a little kid from inside the ramp and had him run a lap with him, then gave him his shades (to keep!) and sang one of the verses directly to him.

The guy in ntalwar's post holding the USA flag was pulled up during Sunday Bloody Sunday.

Some dude thought hanging onto the bridge when it moved was the coolest thing ever. I turned around 5 seconds later, and he was nowhere to be seen.

Great show, and the best I've heard them live in some time. IMO, set-list has enough twists to avoid lagging, and really the biggest "ebb" in tempo is the encore.

A quick "rapid fire" of notes from a devout fan, just observations:

1.) Opener is great, and while I would have preferred No Line or Magnificent, Breathe is solid.
2.) The stage is an act of wonder. I don't know if something like that will really be done again quite like it's being done right now. The thing is built for sound, and kicks. Solid.
3.) Okay, I'll admit it. YBR is the official "piss break" song of the 360 tour. But I freaking love it, and it comes between "newer fan" favorites so it works. Keeper, in my opinion. I think it could grow on the tour, sorta like "Staring at the Sun" did over time.
4.) Band interaction seemed the most infrequent of my times seeing them, but I was also further back this time.
5.) Crowd was up for it, and looked great.
6.) I was dying to hear No Line, and disappointed it didn't show. Holding out for Charlottesville...
7.) My friends--both first timers--were smitten with the snippets. Blackbird sounds better this tour than it has, but all were great.
8.) WOWY, one of my perennial favorites, sounds.........weird. Not good, not bad, just different. And it threw the crowd- people started to sing along, but after Bono changed the tempo with his voice they dropped out (not that I mind). Just an observation.
9.) FedEx officials did one hell of a job coordinating this under the circumstances. Not sure about Metro crowd, but for me took no time getting up there (early) and while the wait in the lot to leave was 45mins, total travel time was about 20-25. Bob Marley at the Roxy always helps...
10.) I still think this tour is crying out for some more Pop/Zooropa cuts. And I think "Slug" as a snippet would blend perfect too somewhere (right before NLOTH?).
11.) Setlist seemed a bit truncated tonight now I take a look at other threads, and screen may have played a role. Having followed this tour closely since Barcelona, I think it was missing that extra kick needed. I was actually more surprised something like UTEOTW didn't show, considering they included YBR and edged out Pride.
12.) Fantastic show, but really excited for a closer look on THU. Seemed more sterile than shows past, but again- I was on the outskirts here in sec 300, albeit with a stellar view and amenities. My friends had a great time, and couldn't get over how clean they played and sounded. Something about my last show in Portland for the Elevation tour still stands as more memorable and lasting, but they sounded a lot better here. We'll see- anxious for Thursday.

Thanks to all for the advice in the other thread too- great help for all who attended.

so, you could complain about the setlist, and i was surprised not to hear UC and NLOTH, but the show itself was pretty stellar. my d-bag seats were close to perfect, and the show as a whole was quite powerful, i think they've hit just about the right note with the politics. the only song i kind of hate is "elevation" -- other than that, i find every other song perfectly justifiable.

this made my top 3 U2 gigs, and i've seen 9 now.

 Agreed. Elevation, weirdly, was one of the weaker songs played. The sleeper, actually, was SIAMYCGOO. Many around us had been passively kind of reacting, and all loudly applauded at the end of that one. Great. Did they cut the Angelou clip before UV?

Also well said on powerful show- it was.

A final point- those around me were REALLY lost with the Su Kyi masks. Other than that, B was incredibly well measured and bipartisan, and turned it off at just the right times.

So that's what happened.

As for the guy who passed out, I think I saw the crew walking around for what seemed an emergency. I hope the guy's okay.

i thought "stuck" was one of the highlights. very poignant, and a slightly different ending than i've heard in the past. i think it's about the best song on ATYCLB, and i don't understand the hatred for it in here.

highlights for me were streets (as ever), sbs (the guy with the turban was great, love the green and the Iran imagery), and ultraviolet.

visually, the show is light years beyond Popmart.

they were really great. i hope for a better setlist in Charlottesville. i was really looking forward to UC. and perhaps they'll do something crazy, but perfect, like play ASOH.

oh, what was also awesome, is that two super cool women sat in front of Memphis and myself, and they had stolen a whole bunch of beer from the VIP tent and they were all like, "we can't finish all this beer, will you help us?"

it was as if the seats paid for themselves!

:lol::drool:

EPIC WIN.

That's like something from "Entourage". Amazing.
