September 17th, 2009: Toronto (show 2)

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

From our place on the outer rail, we saw all of this going on, but we weren't sure what had happened. One woman was escorted out, so we had assumed she vomitted. Shortly afterwards, another guy was asked to leave, and we assumed that he was her boyfriend / husband / spouse / friend / relative. When the security brought over the cardboard, we assumed it was to cover any left over vomit. I guess we were wrong. But why did the other two people leave?

Well, the long story would be....

Basically, the dude in the blue jays shirt was smashed and had to pee. His gf/wife/sig other and him left to take a washroom break. They gave up, despite being told by security to just keep pushing and they'd make it. (6 people in our area included myself were all able to successfully make it to the washroom). So they returned to their spot. I was alerted to the goings on when one of the nice guys I had been talking to earlier, started shouting for security - he had just been peed on. There was some drama as security had to go through the motions (ie calling in a supervisor, making a formal report, etc). The girl he was with proceeded to try and defend his actions, despite the growing puddle on the floor and the people with wet jeans.

Security told them that the cup *had* to be removed. So they tried to hand the pee cup to security - who were not amused. They were told they had to dump it. So since she was sober (? or more sober than he), she was helped over the barricade to remove it. Shortly after the "bouncers" of security arrived, after the formality of everyone pointing out the pisser - he was escorted out.
So that's why they both left.

And the cardboard was a godsend. These poor people in front of us had been soooo nice to everyone - and they had some seriously bad luck in there, getting yelled at by some ass, and then getting peed on.
Yet still, still they left the show smiling.
And probably burned their jeans.

Brightest Star, glad you had a great time
I had a fantastic time too :hyper:

Awesome! :hi5:

I wish I'd had a chance to meet up with more of you. I wandered the line some, but had no idea what some of you people look like.
Except crazy. ;)

Flaming_C, if you were across the rail from us, you might be in some of our pictures. :) We took a 360 crowd shot in hopes of stitching it together.

These things don't happen with weed, or so I'm told

Honestly, that's disgusting. I left the front row twice on night one. Notably not during U2, during the wait for SP and then during the intermission, but STILL! Plan your beer drinking more appropriately, dude. I made sure that after I peed I only had one more beer, and even that I shared with someone.

PS I still have no idea who you are Bri. We'll have to fix that at some point. :)

I wasn't in GA but I'm hoping to do it next leg so hopefully I'll meet up with you guys

I agree!

I was looking forward to finally catching our elusive geetar player.

Did you line up for the second show?
There was a guy near the front playing guitar and singing, I thought he might be you but was too embarrassed to randomly shout your name and see if he looked up. :reject:

And yeah, it was disgusting. :tsk:
The only thing that could have made it worse, was it was my observation that there was still beer in the cup when we went...soo.....visually, you couldn't really tell what was in the cup. Given his sorry state, that may not have ended well... :yuck:

I'm glad that you still had a good time BrightestStar. The incident sounds absolutely disgusting. Unbelievable what people will do. Some people are just completely stupid.

Anyway, we were standing centre-left on the outer rail when we saw the commotion. We were wondering why the start of the show was being delayed, and now I know. Despite the incident, it definitely didn't look like anyone on that side had a problem having a good time.

Not for night two, for night two we had a big group that arrived near the end of SP. For the first night I did full camp out GA mode...I was up near the front like the first 20 people or so strumming (or some semblance of it) and singing a bit. You should have said hello, for sure! It wouldn't be any worse than the two ladies who decided to come sit with me under the pretense of listening...and then they decided to not heed my tactful suggestions about finding their own place in line. They didn't succeed in butting however, security eventually removed them :uhoh:

Something like this, perchance?

YouTube - dumb and dumber lloyd has to pee

:lmao:

Gabe: as i recall when CTV bought Chum in 06, they ended up having to divest City TV...CityTV: TMP: Static Content - About Us ...sold to rogers which is why i am so pissy at City TV for taking the whole negative slant on the roof being off....BTW, the guy Kevin with the stupid suspenders...DUDE THEY ARE NOT KEWL....

if you are going to pee into a receptical, be kind and make sure it has a lid, secure it and put it in your pocket....or just pee your pants....when i was at the LZ concert at the O2, heard stories of people at the rail wearing depends or UK equivalents...

ok now THAT is insane. Depends are for not being able to control your bladder, not for peeing mugs of beer deliberately into!!
if you ever see a football player in perfectly dry weather with some stains around "that" area....they have likely asked for a towel...since there are no locations to go close by...saw that on the NFL network one day.. ewwwww

Exactly!
Like I said, 6 people in the same area all managed to make it. Guys, girls- big and small.
The security guy I was talking to was pissed cause he said they could have made it, they just didn't try.
He also said option 2 was the guy could have said he wasn't feeling well. They would have let him over the barrier, he could have gone and come back no problem.

On the other hand, catheter is still a viable option.
