I tried to find a balance between wishful thinking and being realistic. I don't see them dropping Pride, but I didn't put it in here. Also, I'd love to hear Stuck In A Moment and Ultraviolet, but I didn't put them in here either. But I don't think this is bad.

Fez Intro
Intro video or whatever they're going to use to open the show into
Beginning of No Line on the Horizon
Spotlights are on each of the band members and the rest of the stage is dark.
The band blasts into the second verse (I know a girl with a hole in her heart) and at that moment the stage explodes with lights and color and the crowd goes insane.

That's how it's going to start

heres another shot. I lurv making setlists:D

get on your boots
vertigo
mofo
magnificent
where the streets have no name
city of blinding lights
exit
no line on the horizon
bullet the blue sky
seconds
sunday bloody sunday
breathe
moment of surrender
please

40
until the end of the world
stand up comedy

fez-being born
a sort of homecoming
one

If they play "Acrobat", I'm rushing the stage....CANNOT believe this hasn't regularly featured. The intro teamed with Zoo Station is epic.

Seeing it will be light in the northern hemisphere at the start of each show, they might take a different tact, kind of like they did on Vertigo, but taking it an extra step. Maybe split the show into two sections, Day & Night. It could work quite well I think...

Intro - Whole Lotta Love
1. Magnificent
2. Desire
3. Breathe
4. Until the End of the World
5. New Year's Day
6. Unknown Caller
7. Beautiful Day
8. Still Haven't Found
9. White As Snow
10. Bad-40

Intermission - House Lights Out

11. Streets
12. I Will Follow
13. No Line on the Horizon
14. Boots
15. Real Thing
16. Ultra Violet
17. Moment of Surrender
18. Unforgettable Fire
19. Sunday Bloody Sunday
20. Two Hearts Beat as One
21. Vertigo

Encore

22. With or Without You
23. The Wanderer

I can't come up with a running order but my guess is we'll get the following:

No line on the horizon
Magnificient
Get on your boots
Breathe
White as snow
Crazy Tonight
Unknown caller

One
The Fly
Pride
Elevation
Beautiful Day
New Years Day
Where the streets have no name
Desire
Walk on
Vertigo
Bad
Staring at the sun
Angel of Harlem

and a couple of odd ball album tracks...

to be honest unless they play crap like Miami and Indian Summer Sky for 2 hours I'll be happy with a bunch of new songs and the hits- I haven't seen U2 so many times that I'm bored with those songs

it's a stadium tour they have to play the well known tracks

This nonsense argument, we have discussed here for ages, really makes me

didn't think my post merited that but never mind..the point I was trying to make was..

not all of the crowd are long time fans so they have to cater for that audience as well- the casual fan will likely want to hear the hits rather than obscure album tracks or b-sides from 20 years ago

I consider myself a fan but by no means do I know all their back catalogue- I'd never heard In Cat Dubh or Electric Co until I saw them on Vertigo- I think they'll do the same kind of thing this time- mix the less known tracks with the hits

Fits here more than in previous thread:

01. Vertigo
02. Vertigo
03. Vertigo
04. Vertigo
05. Get on Your Boots/Vertigo (snippet)
06. Vertigo
07. Vertigo
08. Vertigo/ Vertigo (snippet)
09. Vertigo
10. Vertigo
11. Vertigo
12. Vertigo
13. Vertigo
14. Vertigo/Vertigo/Vertigo (medley)

15. Vertigo (tape)
16. Vertigo
17. Vertigo

18. Vertigo
19. Vertigo (acoustic)
20. Vertigo

Now just replace "04. Vertigo" with "04. A Sort Of Homecoming" for Dublin III and we might have one of THE finest setlists ever EVER!

Exactly.

As much as I love a hell of a lot of lesser known album tracks, having them as the crux of a stadium show wouldnt work imo.

you need songs that will reach right to the back of the stadium. some tracks just dont work in stadiums and you need a different setlist to suite. the odd obscure track is fine but you need the songs that reach the wider audience for it to work.

see the rolling stones licks tour when they did club shows/arenas/stadiums alternating. they catered the setlist for the venue sizes.

This would be a set i'd love to hear at Wembley 2nd night as its my first time seeing them, so I want a hit laden set for my first gig :) wont happen like, but no harm in putting it down!

Mind giving an example of a song that would work in a stadium but not in an arena and vice versa

October, Your Blue Room ...great for a small venue. Not so good in a stadium.

Songs like Even Better than the Real Thing, Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me...they wouldnt work in a little club really. Even Streets needs an arena/stadium...

From memory, the Stones would use the smaller venues to play really rare stuff for the die hards and the larger venues for more of the casual fans.
