Songs that are being played on the current tour that you're f**king loving and WHY:

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

I'm really digging COBL on this tour, mostly because of the lighting effects.

But Bono needs to bring back the running-around-the-catwalk-with-a-little-kid bit. It adds so much sentimentality to the performances.

i'm totally into the miss sarajevo -> city of blinding lights section.

i love the questions and the extra keys before city of blinding lights starts. granted, there could be (and are) cooler ways and times to extend the screen, but for what they've decided to do, it's the tits.

wow theres actuly a part from zooropa song that funny fuzzy sound before second transtiton, listen everytime it
says what ou you want :)

They reference Zooropa in concert now? Just fucking play it, it's a glorious song maaaaaade for this stage.

There cannot be anything more amazing than hitting straight into Zooropa after that questions part. The thing's made for it.

Zooropa has never been epic before live
a cluttered mess? yes

so there aren't many reasons to believe it would be now

Until the end of the world-Sents out out a much bigger shot of electrcity through the crowd than elevation
Crazy Tonight- What a way to make a stadium look like a disco
Bad- The best song U2 ever created
Where The Streets Have No Name- When the stadium goes red, you know everyone will be jumping up and down
Hold Me Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me- Probably the closest we'll be to a Pop era song on this tour
I Will Follow- They are performing this very well this tour
The Unforgettable Fire- Why oh why did they drop this?

what i would be curious about is there was one time in auckland where they went from the questions interlude into boy falls from the sky.

i wonder if that was ever a serious consideration, or if they were just looking at how cool it looked before playing another song?

epic fucking mess, yes

I'm gonna have to agree with Salome here. Zooropa is one of my favorite tracks on one of my Top 5 U2 albums, and one of my favorite albums of all time, but that is just... not good.

I kinda expected him to say "TO THE DISCOTHEQUE!" at 1:19.

yeah, because a half-assed effort on the song over 17 years ago is a good comparison to what it'd be like if they worked on it in 2010/11.

There are some songs that do work well live, some that can work well live, and some that just can't. As I said in another thread, "Cedars of Lebanon" is my favorite track on NLOTH. But live? I wouldn't even dream of it.

"Do You Feel Loved" is one of those tracks I could imagine them resurrecting in some fit of inspiration. It failed miserably during PopMart, but I believe there are a lot of ways you could approach it.

"MoFo" was OK in the beginning, but almost felt like U2 doing karaoke of themselves, but the MTV Awards version was a finely-tuned porn-guitar triumph that perfectly balanced it's rock and dance leanings.

I believe there are a lot of ways you could approach it.

that's my admittedly optimistic view of what they could do with zooropa.

especially since they've had no trouble completely openly playing to a backing track with the crazy tonight remix...and in reality they've had no problem with it since probably the unforgettable fire, now that i think about it.

just looking at it on zoo tv, it comes across as an afterthought, and done seriously these days might be better.
