don't know what the names of any of their songs are. the people that like them will probably like their set. the kids seemed to like them tonight.

They opened with "get it started." They also played (not sure if it was this order):
'Don't Phunk With My Heart'
'Pump It'
'Where Is The Love?'
'lumps'
'Boom Boom Pow'
'Tonight is gonna be a good night'
among others. Really, of all the openers I've seen in the last 13 years, they were one of, if not, the best. Crowd was rolling for them.

Let's Get It Started
Don't Phunk With My Heart
Pump It
Where Is The Love?
My Humps
Boom Boom Pow
I've Got A Feeling (Tonight is gonna be a good night)

-fixed some of the titles (not that anyone prob. cared)

i've got no problem with BEP being an opener, sure i'd prefer to see Muse ... but Snooze Patrol sounds like it would have been WAYYYYY worse

Thanks! Apart from My Humps, that sounds like a great set!

My Humps, eh?

Damn... I love their stuff actually, but that song is total crap. If they play that crap in Phoenix, I'm taking an extended pee break.

I'd rather have seen BEP than Snore Patrol.

And, given that I only vaguely know of Muse, likely them also, although I might have been pleasantly surprised.

I kinda like dancing :dance::dance::dance:

Me too exactly.

Stop it.

I would take Snow Patrol over BEP by a factor of oh, I don't know, a gazillion, and I only know one song of their's.

Ugh. BEP is just not my thing. It's energetic, yeah, but the songs are fucking vapid. Here's a brief run down of the subjects in BEP's songs:

We're so cool
You're so cool
I love you and can show it to you with the depth and insight of a 12 year old.
Oh, and let's all just get along.

PASS. There were about 3 songs last night that I found tolerable. The rest I had to suffer through.

What's wrong with the world mama?
People living like aint got no mamas
I think the whole worlds addicted to the drama
Only attracted to the things that bring you trauma
Overseas yeah we tryin to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin
In the USA the big CIA the Bloodz and the Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And if you hatin you're bound to get irate
Yeah madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
You gotta have love just to set it straight
.
.
.
Whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality
Instead of spreading love, we're spreading anomosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling down
It's no wonder why sometimes I'm feeling under
I gotta keep my faith alive, until love is found

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father Father Father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love?

^ that's from a bunch of goofy dance music fans who don't really try to be 'serious' or mature.

To be perfectly fair, there's a hell of a lot of immature/teen angst/romance, vapid repetition and cheesy lyrics in Snow Patrol songs, and they're trying to be taken seriously. Read them sometimes, they're pretty lite.

Judging from the YT videos I have seen so far, The BEPs seem to have gotten the best response of any of the opening acts so far. The crowd looks like they really got into the group. Good for them.

Gabe, you can write a 6000-page thesis on BEP and the political undercurrents of their lyrics and it isn't going to change how much I detest them and their “Humps”... The same goes for someone trying to convince you that another opening band is better so why don't we just call it a day and remember how bad Dashboard Confessional was?
