This is how i see it. Would you rather pay higher ticket prices ?

Do we all get free Blackberrys when we buy tickets?

I'm surprised it's not Apple sponsoring. I guess if they were it'd be called the Force Quit and Move to Trash Tour

Wait... didn't U2 almost go bankrupt after the ZooTV Tour, because of the self-financing of that huge project? Wasn't there always a secret investor since 1997?

Somewhere, a tear runs down the cheek of 80's-era Bono.

... ?

yeah, they do.

swear to god, there's going to be some kind of "radical" technology involving cellphones, isn't there? Let's see, confessional? audio streamed directly to your phone?

why can't I just go to a concert anymore. I LIKE turning off my phone.

also, a U2 tour sponsored so publically? gross.

i don't care, at least its not apple. if it makes for cheaper ticket prices, and as long as they are not showing commercials during the show, i don't care who sponsors it.

meh, ultimately kinda meaningless. i think most are willing to deal with a tour sponsor in exchange for an affordable ticket to a great show from the world's biggest band. Now, if Bono is willing to poke fun at it during the show, that could be enjoyable.

Hmm -- the Rolling Stones led the way on this folks a long time ago - I beleive Jovan a scents and perfume company sponsored either Some Girls or Tattoo You Tours -- it's smart business and I would rather see a specatacular audio-visual show with all the 'cool stuff' and lower prices.

Besides, they might sneak into a few bars and play some acoustic, more intimate sets too -- this is getting fun!

The luanch site of the tour says,

"Now get on your headphones and prepare to see U2 in an entirely new way."

I would make a large wager they will be broadcasting every show live (for a fee of course) to anyone on the RIM network.

You will basically be able to watch the show on your Blackberry, or at least listen to it.

And the Elevation/RIM thing - yeah I am not surprised they have a sponsor where when they make money, Elevation makes money. I love the funny math that is going around these days.

Yeah, but everybody already knew that Stones were whores. It hurts when it's someone you love.

Music sales are down. Album sales are dead. No one wants to pay for anything. Who gives a crap anymore about sponsors on a tour anyway? The whole idea of "not selling out" is the worst sentiment in all of music. So long as the band doesn't stand up there and thank Viagra for getting the tour UP and running, who cares?
