The only problem with these "fan request" shows is that inevitably the most popular requests will be the hits that everyone knows - and for the most part, that they already play. Sure, it might get you a couple of deep cuts, but anybody hoping for a setlist of rarities is going to be disappointed.

Well, it also depends where they pick from. I think for the most part, it's the diehard U2 fans who get to the venue at 8 am for a spot near the stage. So if U2 selected people from there, there could be some deep cuts requested.

But I do agree that U2 would need to rehearse beforehand to pull off something like Acrobat or Mofo.

True. It needs to be a super secret special show dedicated to the weirdo %.05 of their fan base who argues about beach clips.
