...so every year in the summer there's this event in Gdansk (Poland) celebrating 1980's "revolution" and 'Solidarity' movement, every year there's some big act there...

there are some serious rumors that they're talking to U2 to be there next year.
...also most of those concerts are later released on DVD (see Gilmour) or at least shown on TV

Someone on the u2tour.de forum met Paul McGuiness in London and he told her that U2 are "definitely" coming to Europe in summer. He said they'll play Spain and Germany among other countries.

The source seems credible, she's even got a pic with McGuiness. It speaks of end of June in Spain, nothing else is said. Interesting.

this has been confirmed by t4f (the same producer as coldplay and madonna for south america) in a newspaper on Chile last saturday. At least they will be playing in Chile by October 2010 at the Estadio Nacional (confirmed)....and it will be their 3rd time around here

Agreed. BTW, if they play in Chile, they'll probably play in Brazil and Argentina.
