I've decided to make my goal running the marathon, because I haven't been able to find motivation to exercise and I really am goal-oriented. I've ALWAYS wanted to run the marathon and I'm really excited about walking/running now.

I started today with my half hour of walking, 27 weeks to go! Right now I'm at 146, last year in March I was 160, in September I was 140 but have obviously gained back some of my weight since the holidays. :madspit:

I'm trying for 130. :hyper:

I'm using this schedule:

I hit 184.5 on the scale the other day. Down from an all-time high of 206, and down from 196 on Jan 6th (when we officially started the new eating plan).

I started going to the gym about 2 months ago for first time ever. Am just a smidge under 6 foot tall and weight about 190lbs. Seemingly i am right in the middle of where I should be considering age/height etc.

Felt a little overweight so have spent last few months swimming/running a lot. Feel much better and while my weight has not gone down significantly, maybe 5lbs, I def look better for it - excess fat has probably turned into muscle.

Either way, congrats and good luck to all!

Great work deep, you have shown tremendous progress in your program. Great dedication.

Hey Party Boy, it's all about how the clothes fit, and fat doesn't turn to muscle, you are probably losing fat while gaining muscle which is super, keep it up. A healthy Party Boy is a happy Party Boy.:applaud:

It sounds like you all are making awsome progress. I dropped 20 pounds since I started college last Augest. I'm not nearly disciplined enough to have a real "diet" but just try and watch things here and there, go overboard once in a while, but make sure I keep excercise consistant. I now weigh 153 and haven't lost anything for like 2 or 3 months now. I still defintely have some fat on me that needs to be burned, but its being stubborn.

I got that book for my mom b/c she thought she'd do it, but it turned out to be too specific and time-consuming to make the meals so she never stuck with it. I've heard a few other people say the same. But she's never stuck to a diet in her life. ;)

Good luck though

Is anyone on the South Beach diet here?

I can't get myself motivated to do anything. I must lose this weight before I go to a wedding in October.

I lost 30lbs on SB. Its great - Just switch the meat to veggies like broccoli and spinach. And drop all dairy if you can too.

Good luck to you all – It is so worth it - I feel 20 years younger! (And I'm only 22!) ;)

I like the peanut butter meal bars if I'm in a hurry and can't eat a real mean....
