I've got no real interest in surfing, but this is a beautiful video. Not sure where else to put it, but I thought some of you might like to have a look

So I had a day off and decided to go to the zoo today. At the orangutan exhibit, there was a large female leading a much smaller one of unknown sex around the enclosure by the hand. Sounds cute, right? Well, on further inspection, we realized that the large one had it's hand around the little one's fist so as to only allow the index finger to remain extended. She would walk her around for a bit, then stop, step over the smaller one's arm so it was mounting it (reach around style), lay on it's belly and force the finger up it's hoohaw. She would hump the finger for about a minute, then get up, have a taste, and lead it to the next spot to start over again. I was in tears from laughing so hard. The best part was that it was in front of a school field trip. So we watched that for a little while, then went to see some of the other animals. When we came back, the big one still had its had around the other one's fist, but now it was hanging from the jungle jim by one arm and forcing the finger up with the other. The little orangutan seemed to be oblivious to what was going on. Probably the funniest day at the zoo ever

Members of the ape family are always good for entertainment.

I went to the Seattle Zoo for the first time (after 10 years of living here) last May. There was this funny little monkey-type thing (can't remember the name; had never heard of the type), and this guy told us that they were very protective of females.

So my male friend starts faux-molesting me in front of the glass, and the monkey goes bananas, leaping at the glass in front of me to try and protect me. We did it five more times to amuse ourselves, although I started to feel bad because my friend was clearly torturing the poor little thing by molesting me.

Ouch.

It's very, weirdly humid here. But at least it's only about 70. But it's probably the most humid it's been since I moved here 10 years ago.

WEIRD.

I'm going to Boston next week (city, not the band). Does anyone who's been have any "see this / eat here" type of recommendations?
