I'm glad I lived long enough to witness #daddygate.

...well, that's something I'm not proud of having in my Google history. That'll be up there with my ex using my laptop and discovering we both watched the same porn.

Wouldn't that be a... positive discovery?

Did anyone end up listening to my band's songs? Just interested in reactions.

Not sure if "Leave the Light On" caught me very much but I enjoyed "A Coming Age".

Cool! Thanks for the feedback. It's the opposite of most of the feedback I've gotten so far, so it's a nice change of pace.

i'm going to bring this post here bc honestly i feel bad about hijacking the aussie politics thread.

That of course leads to my big problem with the US Greens, that they don't seem to put all that much energy into these other races. It makes it hard to take them seriously as a viable and worthwhile alternative.
how so? is it the extreme dislike of clinton? i know the green party has no chance of winning, but at least for this election, i'd rather vote for policies over people. stein isn't the best leader (i guess? since she hasn't held any sort of office i don't know but i'm realistic in knowing a person shouldn't have their first job as ceo, just as a person's first political office role probs shouldn't be president) but i do like her positions better than clinton's. clinton's come to the left on a lot of stuff, especially since sanders has dropped out, but i wonder 1. if it's all for show and she'll revert back to her centrist self if/when she's elected, 2. what about the other stuff she hasn't changed policy on, like tpp or fracking. i won't get into any of the conspiracy theorist shit since it's all unproven, or the emails, though i will say simply the fact that the whole thing was dismissed when more emails are coming out is troubling.

stein did an ama on reddit and was asked that very question, and basically said what i figured she would: the reason more greens don't run for local and state stuff is so they can focus their energies on the presidential ticket or whatever. or something like that. i think it should be the other way around, start small. get city mayors who are green — i'm sure in the bigger more liberal cities it would be easier, of course, although it might be surprising because there's cities out in the midwest that have started relying on renewable energy and stuff. the word green isn't a dirty word anymore to some people. basically, the cities and states with lots of solar and wind energy as well as good recycling programmes would probably have the best luck electing green politicians (of course there's more to the green party than this, but this is what everyone thinks of first and it's also in the party's name). i wish coalitions were possible but our country's voting system sucks ass.

if i didn't live in such a republican part of the country (i seriously just moved from a city that was blue in a red state to a red city in a red state, ugh) i'd consider running for some kind of public office on the green party.
