I don't know why, but I now have a hilarious image of you with one giant ear....

Well, I still don't have anything decent to take to India with me. I'm going over to my sister-in-law's house this week to try her Bose buds.

I can't use same sized tips either. Another thing to try is the 'yawn' where you open your jaw up like a yawn as you rotate the buds into your ear canal slightly. The yawning action helps position it.

I bought these earbuds about a year ago, and they're fantastic! I have tiny ears, so the smaller caps fit perfectly in my ears. They drown out outside sound, are a decent price, and are so much more comfortable than the standard Apple earbuds. I wear them when I'm running, and they never fall out. I definitely recommend them.

What about noise cancelling headphones? (in ear) The Bose are not noise cancelling. Does this take away from the sound?

I'd love to hear an answer to that as well. I've heard at least once that the noise-cancelling technology does negatively affect the sound itself. Someone told me it can make the vocals more muffled or something. That doesn't sound appealing.

Why do you say that? I think they sound much, much better and are far more comfortable than the Apple earbuds.

Bose are not the best, but they are likely good at their price range. I don't believe in noise cancelling technology, I think sound-isolating is far more effective and healthy on the ear (ie sound-isolating doesn't send a 'cancelling signal' to the eardrum) If you look earlier in the thread you'll see my recommendation for high quality earphones that fit in the ear very nicely (hint: UM2 Earphones (True-Fit Dual-Driver) :: Westone)

Not the IE's. And no, it does not take away from the music/sound, on the contrary.
