Vista?

Anyone upgrade to it? Was the upgrade easy? Is Vista worth it?

For you anything
Unfortunately
Computers are not my strength
Knowledge of such would probably benefit me, I admit.

You seem to know a decent amount about them
Or, at least, you do to me
Use Vista in good health if you get it!

See, since I'm using XP now, I'm just wondering
under what cirumstances should I start to
consider switching to Vista? Is it necessary? I
kinda like Xp still, no real problems (though it did kill my USB ports.)

Maybe I should just hold off for a while? Will the price
eventually come down?

Does Vista have any features that are "must haves"
or is it just a glorified version of XP? I'm curious but
unless there's a need I have better was to spend my
cash. Know what I mean?
how about I just let people post their impressions of their
experiences?

I wish I could help you

But, sadly, I know noting of any of this
application type stuff
nevertheless, I should brush up so
gentlemen like you can be aided by myself
edified, if you will, when you find yourself with a
dearth of knowledge

You should go to a store
or maybe find a site specific to computer advice
unless you trust people on here a little more
readily than you would others

Mike, I wish you the best of luck with this, and in my
opinion, you'll end up making the right decision,
most definitely

Yeah, I hear you.
Overall, not a huge deal deal I guess. I don't have much
understanding of this stuff either.

Whatever.
I think I'll just hold off for now.
Sometimes it's better to let the bugs get worked out and all. It's not like XP didn't
have 2 huge security updates. At least.

Appreciate the offer and assistance, man.
Some decisions just take time and patience. A new operating
system is something I don't think should just be bought cuase,
"Hey, it's new whoo whoo." I don't have any real
overwhelming need to get it, just more of a curiosity. And I'm always the
last person to upgrade computer stuff, so I was just wondering if I was missing an
experience by waiting.

I'm not the techo in my house.....but hubby is and he says: " It's visually nice but it's a pig of an OS due to being very resource hungry and almost every home user will have to upgrade some kind of hardware"

No, not at all. We both post in another thread and I was just messing with him, and he then messed back with me.

He really was looking for advice, though. Someone else told him to wait about 6 months for all the bugs and kinks to get worked out.

Yes, he is for a real. He's a big old mean brute. He follows me around spitting on me and calling me racial epithets. It's awful. I am cry.

Thank your husband for his answer. That's good info. Someone else told me to hold off a bit until some more of the bugs are worked out.

Despite what Beav just said, I'm not "for real"
i am actually a nice guy, I would never make Beav
cry. I would even go so far as to say that Beav
knows I am a nice person but will not admit it.
however, I suppose that
every once in a while I
accidentally say something mean, and for that I
do apologize.

Here is what was said about upgarding to Vista now in a different thread:

I work in this field...hold off for about 6 months. The chance is that you will need new drivers that may not be available now. I know there's a major issue with iTune...the main fact I'm holding off.

Wait for Service Pack 1 or 2..
