So who else is addicted to Uber?
So who else is addicted to Uber?
You mean the pink-moustachioed cars?
I had a horrific experience with it recently where I got charged $120 to go what should have been 11 miles.
Also, shit like this has happened on occasion:
Uber Calls Woman's 20-Mile Nightmare Abduction an "Inefficient Route"
No, there was bad traffic because of an accident so the guy took a route way out of our way. I had never used it before and was very drunk (which is why I was using Uber) so I didn't understand that taking a different route was adding to my bill. My understanding had been that the whole appeal was that you already knew your bill and it charged to your credit card and you didn't have to sweat it. I thought that was part of the convenience everyone was raving about. I live 11 miles from the concert I was at, and he ended up driving around 32 miles to go around. Also, Peef, is this surge pricing thing what happened to you?
Maybe this is super backwards of me, but whatever, here's how I'm basically feeling about Uber, and blogs, and just general counter-culture type stuff where the average joe just decides he can do something as well as a "professional" (I use the word lightly for cab drivers).
Is it cheaper? Yeah. Is it faster? It can be. Is it better? It has its moments. Are things like the above worth it? To me? Not even close. and this just seems to be the narrative time and time again. Infrastructure isn't always fun, but it certainly seems to at least curb/prevent shit like this from happening.

Why not? It's all the rage here. Imo a million times better than any cab experience I've ever had.
