Toshiba laptop - RIP

just over a month ago we got a toshiba satellite laptop.

last week i was scrolling through a page and the computer started opening new internet pages and closing old ones
when i restarted it the left click button on the touch pad was not working. the next day it worked.

two days later it happened again.

one day we switched it on and the machine made a high-pitched sound, there was just a black screen.

yesterday the touchpad stopped working again and hasn't worked since
i think it will need to be sent back and get repaired which can take over two weeks

i've never had a laptop with problems before. is this common?

My brother bought a Toshiba Satellite Laptop. He regrets it. It does not work anymore after less than a year. I took it in thinking it was a bad hard drive they replaced it. It worked fine after installing Windows XP it told me to restard I did and it never turned on again. So now I have to replace the entire mother board.

Don't buy Toshiba Laptops.
