I've always preferred Battlefield's multiplayer. More wide-open, you actually have to use your brain a bit, and if you don't like someone you can drive over their building a tank or crash a helicopter into them.

I was sad that part wasn't included in the montage, I almost posted it as well, but I figured I'd gotten the point across .

Red Dead Redemption came in the mail this morning :hyper: Still waiting on my new dual shock 3. dammit. have to keep playing on ye old sixaxis which doesn't really hold its charge.

I guess we'll all know if Killzone 3's multiplayer is good or not soon:

LINK

It’s Friday and it is a good news day! Between the 3rd and the 15th of February, you will be able to download and play the Killzone 3 Open Beta from the PlayStation Store.

This Beta will offer you exclusive early access to the MP05 ‘Frozen Dam’ multiplayer level from Killzone 3, including all three online multiplayer modes – Guerrilla Warfare, Warzone and Operations – as well as the offline multiplayer mode, Botzone. A sprawling asymmetrical map set in an old dam facility, the playing field in MP05 has been carefully tailored to fit each of the multiplayer modes.

These are the four multiplayer modes included with the Open Beta: be available in the final game:

Guerrilla Warfare (16 players)
Guerrilla Warfare is a standalone multiplayer mode similar to classic Team Deathmatch: You and your teammates must try to kill as many of the opposing team as you can before the timer runs out. In this mode, only the downstream monitor houses and repair bay are accessible, giving the map a very frantic pace.

Warzone (24 players)
If you’ve played Killzone 2, you may already be familiar with Warzone. It’s a round-based multiplayer campaign that consists of five randomly ordered mini-missions. In this mode the power house and penstocks directly under the dam are accessible as well, so there’s more room to come up with different strategies and approaches to your goal.

Operations (16 players)
Operations is a new multiplayer campaign which aims to deliver a more cinematic, story-based gameplay experience, similar to that of Killzone 3’s single-player mode. It consists of a sequence of linear mini-missions, in which the ISA must try to secure the docks and destroy the dam, while the Helghast must try to protect the dam facility.

Botzone (16 players)
Botzone is an offline multiplayer mode ideal for those looking to get to grips with the controls, the weapons or the map layout before going up against live players. Each of the aforementioned multiplayer modes can be played offline, against CPU-controlled opponents.

I'm definitly gonna try this out. I haven't played Killzone 2, mainly because a friend had it and didn't like it that much but this might change my mind on buying it.

Bad Company 2 is a class game, I really enjoyed. Then I picked up Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas.. and got Red Dead Redemption for Christmas and I haven't played Bad Company 2 for quite awhile.

Red Dead, what a freakin' game. Wow, I love it. I love that the multiplayer is the same vast land as in the game. I sometimes just go out hunting, for a few hours.. just got into Tall Trees where wolves and grizzly bears ate three of my horses lol. I've been having trouble trying to win Poker matches, even with the cheating available with the elegant suit.

We just downloaded Angry Birds for the PS3... and are quite addicted to it. Very simple, yet challenging game.

Duke Nukem Forever will be out in May! Woohoo!

I still haven't got the Vietnam add-on for Bad Company 2.. how is it? Is it worth getting or am I better off just sticking with the standard multiplayer?

Poker is the biggest flaw in the game, actually.

Just bid REALLY high each time. Well, bid medium at first and then make them all fold by doing ridiculous sums that they wont match. Kinda like in real life. If it's not real money, you arent serious with it.

Lolz.

It'll be interesting to see how well it sells considering how long it's been and how we still don't really know much about it.

Dead Space 2 got a 9 from IGN.

It's SUCH a thing, I see no way it won't sell well as long as they market it.

Ah noted thanks.

I always have trouble with dueling... I can never get my red bar up high enough (sometimes I do, but it's flukes)

A funny thing I've noticed about getting caught cheating is you'll go out, duel, I'll kill him.. walk back in and he's back in the chair! No wonder they made Undead Nightmare

BTW, Amazon.com has a "Buy Two, Get One Free" console game deal going on right now.

Amazon.com: Video Games: Buy 2, Get 1 Free

It's only select titles, but I easily found three games I'd been meaning to buy for a while now!

Thanks, Melon. I might grab ME2 and Dead Space 2 and get a freebie (maybe a preorder for Killzone 3)

I still have to get Dead Space 1 though. I've been putting it off because those games always get me so freaked out. It's not that I'm afraid after the fact, I just hate shit jumping out at me when I'm playing at 2 in the morning

Whoops! Scratch that back to 1 and 2, with 3 sucking.

Good catch. It's been so long since I've played em. AoE 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. AoE 3 just became all complex and goofy graphics oriented... didn't like that.

Okay glad to read this and learn that I don't just really suck at it. Thanks.

So I finally finished Dead Space. I didn't really pick the ending, I thought the black dude was the guy up to no good, turns out I was close, but not really

I only played through on easy becasue my old ps3 that died I'd made it to about chapter 8 or 9 and didn't really wanna go back on do some of that, I just wanted to get the story, and what actually happened!

Might try and watch some Dead Space:Downfall tonight, because I have had that sitting in my DVD collection for a year or so without even opening it. Then all ready for Dead Space 2 on thursday :hyper: :scared:

I'm looking forward to it tomorrow. Enjoyed the first one, and IGN really seemed to love the sequel. Saying it's the best survival horror game this gen is certainly not a bad thing.

I'm not looking forward to being freaked out every night for the next few weeks though.

That's why I got the Limited Edition COD MW2 Xbox.... came with the game... upgrade from 20GB to 250GB... new controllers...

After selling the other one, I was pretty much spending about 100 extra minus the game/controllers.

Considering I got a new xbox (LE at that) for the same price as a 250GB HDD, cheaper actually, you should look into an investment like that.

Or just buy a 16GB flash drive .

You can delete games you no longer play or have from there, JT. I believe the save files are separate from the required installs, so you can free up what you need. PS3's unfortunately fill up quick that way, the interface for deleting things is not as straight forward as 360 is either.
