Splitting a dual layer dvd file

I'm currently downloading a dual layer dvd from u2torrents, but I don't have a dual layer burner. I *think* that the burning software I use (ConvertX to DVD 3) might allow me to compress it and burn it onto a single layer disc, but I'm not sure. Either way, I'd like maintain the quality of the recording, so does anyone know of an easy way to split the file in two so that I can burn it onto two single layer discs? Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much! I think I actually had that program on a former computer, thinking it could convert and burn various formats, but I gave up on it. I'll download it again to help with the splitting thing.

For actual converting and burning, I've never found anything better than ConvertX to DVD. I love that program. Too bad it can't do splitting, too.
