Mac shortcut

I'm trying to learn my keystroke shortcuts on my new mac. Which key is the "sideways capital I with a dash" key? I don't know how else to describe it. For example, in Safari, the "show all bookmarks" keystroke shortcut is this symbol and the square with the circles on the corner and B.

I know I'm not being clear but I'm hoping someone can help.

That is the "Option" key.
There's nothing intuitive about some of the shortcuts. I often have to check the "Help" menu, type in "shortcuts" and look under the "symbols for special keys" link.

Love my Macs, but I'm far from a pro.
