Righty. I'm Canadian. I'm taking my camera overseas along with its charger. On the back it says the thing is good up to 240 volts.

Now I think I read somewhere that Ireland outlets are 240 volts.

So do I need to get a voltage converter for the charger or should it be alright?

Thanks.

I think Ireland is either 220 or 240, maybe depends if you are in Northern Ireland or not? If it says it's goo to 240, then it should be fine. You might need an adapter for it though. Most things that charge or change AC power into DC also regulate, so you don't usually need a separate converter for a charger or a laptop power adapter.

I actually laughed when I saw your post this morning, b/c last night Phil's fish tank leaked and due to a power strip sitting in a puddle of water, I now know what 110v of AC current feels like. Then I click in this forum and there's a new thread about voltage, lol!

Enjoy your trip!
