ipod question

after importing a cd into my itunes library and plugging in my ipod only a few of the songs will transfer onto my ipod ... do I have to convert them or something ? please help

You might need to refresh your iPod

OK I downloaded and watched some videos now I can't goto my playlists without the vidoes popping up. It won't goto my audio list
