Ipod Nano help!

I'm so frustrated right now with my Ipod Nano. I had an Ipod shuffle and it keeps recognizing this in my Itunes. How do I get it to update to the Nano??? I've been tinkering with this for over 2 hours now and I am screaming with frustration. I've uninstalled the whole thing then installed and pretty much started the whole thing over. But it still won't recognize my Ipod Nano. Someone please help!! I've looked on the support page and done what they said but I am having no luck.

Oh and how much is 1 GB? In terms of MB?

from iTunes, is there a dropdown menu that has an option that will fit your needs Or is there a number to call for help

I don't know anything about nano's, but 1GB = 1024MB, cus it goes like this:
