iMovie?

Any good resources for Windows Movie Maker 2.6 users trying to learn iMovie? I normally use WMM but I'm working on a particular project where aspect ratio is critical and for whatever reason, 16:9 video gets squished to 4:3 every time. The person who shot the footage for me uses iMovie and his aspect ratios look normal but I am so lost when I open iMovie. I just need to cut a few clips, make some slow motion, and add some text to the beginning.

I use Sony Vegas for my videos, mostly because WMM frustrated me to no end with its long list of problems and messing up my aspect ratio. However I have used iMovie for a video or two.

These are the resources I used:

Rent Adobe Creative Cloud | Adobe.com for a one-month period, forward the cost to the client, and do it properly.
