Um ... let me clean up first. My apartment is littered with empty boxes and packing material.

Then I'll take a few crummy cell-phone pictures and share the love.

As long as the stereo is christened with U2 and not Arcade Fire, it's all good.

Everyone gets an equal shot on my new stereo, accused of mass hypocrisy or not.

Packing material... I have a collection of those little black twist ties and I have a hard time throwing out the fitted Styrofoam packing inserts...

I only have a cell phone camera ... I'll have to test drive the software I have to figure out how to put those pictures onto my computer.

Patience, dammit!

i dont get how it can take so long for someone who is able to assemble the world's most advanced stereo systems, to take a few pictures with a cell phone.

You all clamored for it, don't act like it's not the most exciting picture you've ever seen!

Yes, yes, it's true. It's my old TV, on top of my new IKEA TV stand, complete with new, multi-region DVD player, old VCR (who needs Tivo when you have a VCR that works?), new receiver and new CD player.

One fabulous speaker on top of a quality TV tray table to the left ... you'll have to imagine the other speaker. To the right of the TV is a sliding glass door, and the matching TV tray table with matching speaker is beyond that.

Please, hold your applause.

If you want a better picture of the speakers, see the link on page one of this thread, in Diemen's post.

And yes, that is Madonna's "Immaculate Collection" on top of the small pile of CDs on the floor. And Netflix movies on the TV stand. And the plug to connect my iPod when the mood strikes me is resting on the TV stand.

Ta-da.

I'll withhold comment on the Madonna cd, but the rest looks good! Though maybe a pair of speaker stands might make the setup look a bit more permanent - and free up the tray tables for, well, trays and stuff.

Hey, I'm going through my CDs and playing my favorite songs on the new setup ... when I have some quality time to just sit and listen, I'll bring on the U2.

Yeah, I know I need something a little better for the speakers. When I bought the TV stand, I was under the impression the speakers would fit alongside the TV. Whoops!
