Help Changing a File Extension Name

I have some video files I am trying to share but they have an asx extension. I'm not even sure they are true asx files because the files average about 15 MB each, and they won't open in Notepad, so it seems they are not named correctly. The details box on my computer says they are "Windows Media(TM) Audio File", but when I try to upload them to You Tube they are showing the asx extension, and once loaded to You Tube, the video looks fine but the sound is garbled. I checked the Media Convert site but it doesn't support asx. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Asx is a playlist, you need to get the video itself out of it..

My question still stands though if anyone knows the answer I'd still appreciate it. (Gg had converted the same files at one time but doesn't remember how anymore )
