help!

I am having DVD playback problems...

I bought the three disk special edition of Avatar and it wouldn't play on my computer, but it would play on the dvd player we have for the tv. So I took it back thinking it was probably a bad disk or something. Just to be safe I bought a new copy from a completely different place. It still doesn't work.

I have a Toshiba Satellite but I don't know where to find the model number....

any help at all would be very appreciated.

They let you take back an open DVD?

Anyways, the model number should be on the bottom of your computer on a little sticker.

Yeah, that surprised me too.

It's a Satellite L650 - 0DE.

There's also a really long serial number if that would help:

S3A8573D012

Yes, all my other ones work..which is what makes this really frustrating

You didn't put in the blu-ray disc, did you? (I know that's pretty obvious, just checking)

That was the first thing I checked..hehe. I had the same thought, but no, it's the DVD version.

If other DVDs are working, and it works in your DVD player, it looks like the problem might be with the DRM protection. I just checked online and Avatar's Blu and DVD releases are infamous for the DRM protection preventing them from being playable in laptop disc drives.

I'm not seeing a workaround, myself, but maybe someone else will have some helpful advice.

That sucks...so you pay for something you can't play.....

how does that make any sense?
