Over the years, I have have learned how to re-install windows from scratch on messed up or new hard drives, everything up to windows XP

I have been thinking of upgrading to Vista but was wondering a few things:

If I upgrade to Vista is it possible to go back to XP if I wanted to??

How difficult is it to install windows vista on a brand new hard drive? Is it just like installing XP?
