Getting a MacBook

So I'm getting a MacBook in about a month or so. I heard that you can't have AIM with a MacBook, is this true? What advice can the people here, who own a MacBook give me?

OS X comes with a program called iChat. It's an all-in-one IM interface. It's easy to set up your sn and it's all you need to use AIM on OS X.

AIM does have a Mac program, but it's ugly and crippled in its features. Either use iChat, or I use Adium, which combines AIM, MSN, and Yahoo into one convenient program.

iChat comes with Macs, but you can download AIM off aim.com for macs

I already knew that IChat came with the Mac (it's one of the reasons why I wanted it). I just wanted a way to talk to my friends who don't have the little camera to talk with, while using the IChat. It turns out the some of my friends don't have one.

i use ichat and talk to all my sucka-windows-aim user firends on there with no problem.

i hadn't heard of adium though! i may have to check it out.

i love the ichat interface, and the little chat bubbles and the "woop" sound.

I don't know what program she used, but I talked with my friend for over a year and neither of us had cams at the time. She has a PowerBook.
