^ what she said :D and it also depends how much gaming / you tube watching you do on it . . . mine lasts a full day if I'm just calling / txting and listening to tunes but once the gremlins get hold of it and start playing games or watching you tube the battery dies pretty smartly :grumpy: . . . I've got the 3gs and I love love lovity love it

omg i love you mark. i always have a knack of buying mac products about a month before a new one's put out.

luckily though i've never cared about the changes in the new version so i guess it's not a huge deal for me.

I looked for the that web site partially out of sibling spite. :D

My brother just bought 2 new Touch 64GBs last week. Teehee.

Of course, I'm hoping to order a new MacBook Pro next week, so I did have some other motive.

lucky man :) be interested on hearing your thoughts once you've had a chance to play  . . . I have to wait till the contract on my current phone runs out and truth be told, I'm really happy with my 3gs anyway . . . I  it . . . and I'm a patient little poppet so I'm happy to wait . . . can not wait to go have a little play with one this morning though :hyper:

I was talking to my colleague yesterday and told him about how I'm still upset that I lost my ipod touch and I don't feel like spending $300 on another one. Then he said I should just get a used first generation iphone, because he said on ebay they're probably about $50. Why didn't I think of that? Has anyone ever bought an iphone and not use the phone service on it? I assume all the other features will still work if I don't sign up for the phone service from AT&T?

The only thing I'm worried about buying a used iphone is the battery. I assume just like ipods, the iphone battery cannot be replaced once it's fried? What's the life of the battery?

I had no real necessity, but I randomly traded in my "old" iMac for one of the new 27inch quadcores earlier today. I got a much better trade in rate than I was expecting, figured why not. I'm quite happy with it for the 3 hours or so since it was acquired.

oh wow, you can trade in computers? how neat. how does it work though with all the files on your computer? i'd assume you're sort of forced into paying for the one to one feature.

I just transferred all my files and bookmarks to a portable harddrive. I think most shops will do the transfer for you, but will charge $75 and a take a full day to do it. It took me about an hour and a half to move everything over I wanted and delete all the stuff on the computer myself.

yeah, apple's one to one thing is $99. and yeah, when i transferred my stuff from my old mac to my new (at the time, anyway) one it took about that long too. their thing is a total rip-off really when all they do is hook both up with a firewire cable.

Our local Mac specialist, non-Apple Store, store offered $400 for our MacBook--pretty good considering it is a year and a half old. I trust them to delete any personal info, too, which is why I wouldn't sell it on EBay, etc.

I bought a used Mac Titanium off EBay, and while it was a good deal, the guy left all sorts of personal things on it.

haha really? i haven't owned a secondhand computer since 1997 (well, that was the last time i bought one, i mean) and sadly i don't remember any of the previous owners having left any personal info. :depressed:

it's crap like that though is one reason i've never considered selling any of my old computers. the closest i've come is offering my old pc to my mother.

I personally used my last computer as target practice to make sure the hard drive was wiped clean. Numerous bullet holes through it probably did the trick.

Mine are a thriving dust farm in my basement.

Shooting them sounds like more fun--that 3rd Gen iMac has been sitting there mocking me for too long.
