Do you tether to your iPhone?

Apple - iPhone - Share your Internet connection with your laptop.

I have a first generation iPhone, bought it Dec 2007.

I like it a lot. But I need 3G to able to use it to get connected to the internet.

How does tethering work for you? is it as fast as a $60 a month usb wifi device?

Is the coverage good? My monthly service bill would go up $10 a month for the 3G. a fair cost if I can get connected.
(not to mention the cash outlay for the new phone, I don't need)

I tether using mywi on a jailbroke iPhone 3G. works good enough. not as fast as my home cable, but I've used it for work, and personal stuff when in a pinch.

In the US you can't tether (yet) unless you jailbreak or stay on 3.0 software. (Anything past that removed the tether option)
