Do I want to download the Limewire stuff?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

I don't really know a lot about Limewire but this this is where I do go to a lot these days:

http://hype.non-standard.net/

From there I find a lot of great mp3s and a lot of great blogs where people talk about great music. New and old.

Limewire is mp3s, no torrents involved. Since you're on a Mac, you shouldn't have to worry about getting any crazy viruses that PCs can get from Peer to Peer file sharing.

And, the link that Westport gave you to The Hype Machine is excellent

Yeah, if you had a PC, based on the computers I've worked on lately, I'd say Limewire is one of the LAST things you'd ever want to use. Is SoulSeek available for Macs? I've been using it for years and never had any instances of viruses or mal/spy/ad-ware.

I'm more of a complete album freak instead of downloading individual singles, but I suppose regular p2p stuff like Limewire is okay for the latter.

Soulseek is probably one of the few good experiences I've had with P2P programs other than Bittorrent, since there are chat rooms full of people with lots of good music libraries.

Limewire is safe.

My mate got a porn virus from it once , every time he opened up his web browser it would direct him to a porn site.

Limewire is mp3s and mp4s (video) it also i beleive has images with it.
I would suggest not getting limewire, its illegal ..your getting songs for free :eyebrow:

Anyhow Torrent isnt so bad either!, its really quixk because its p2p netwrking =]

Limewire is good - really it is - but if live U2 is what you're after, your best bet would be to download from the u2bloodredsky hub. It's got mp3s of pretty much every show U2 has ever performed.

Should I try Livewire or do we think my computer will crash :shifty:

If you have a PC DONT do it. If you have a Mac, you are safe, but personally I think SoulSeek is better/easier.

results may vary :)
i mean, i have a PC and I've been using imewire for years. have had no probs and getting quality shared music :):)

maybe simply give each a try and decide for yourself which fits your preference the most

Yeah, some people never have problems. But honestly you can get just as much from SoulSeek and be guaranteed less of a security risk so why chance it? Also, you're more likely to get busted using a program like LimeWire. That's how our school catches most of our AUP and DMCA violations.
