Difference between flv & mpeg2 videos?

I would like to start downloading and watching the U2 Promo appearences. Is there a difference in quality of picture & sound between a flash .flv video and a mpeg2 video?

MPEG-2 is near DVD quality, while .flv looks like a standard YouTube video.

You need special codecs or playing to play either one though.

flv is indeed very low quality, hence the files are so small. It's flashplayer video. MPEG-2 is a regular video format and can also be used on dvds.

Don't worry baby, it's gonna be all right. Uncertainty can be a guiding light...
