Creating a website/forum question

So I am in the process of designing a website. I have created a forum already. Now while I was looking at my design tools that I was given by ATT/Yahoo. it said if you want to protect your most important information. Create a ssl subdirectory. So I did and I put the forum in there. So while I was creating the forum it asked me to input the domain name which I did and named the forum after that. so it would be wearepiba.com/ssl(thats to go to the forum.) So when I create my website and I want to put it in the ssl will that make a mess of thing? becuase it would be two www.wearepiba.com/ssl or can I create a second ssl so it wont conflitct with each other or will I have to save it in a non ssl folder?

Unless you're taking credit cards or personal/confidential information on your website you do NOT need to use ssl.
