whats the difference between a call tone and a call ringer?

I think ringers are actually "rings" and a subset of the "tone" family, while "tones" covers the broader category that includes all sounds, songs and rings.

So you could say, "All rings are tones, but not all tones are rings." Like "all sharks are fishes, but not all fishes are sharks."

There's an 83% chance I'm wrong.

my provider's website wont even give me a definition. all it tells me is that i dont have rights to a call tone. bastards.

a call ringer is what you hear when your phone rings, a call tone/ring tone is what the person calling you hears when they call your phone...I think :hmm:

Yeah, I think a call tone is what I hear when I call you. Instead of a "ring.... ring..." when I'm waiting for my husband to pick up, I hear a Wilco song.
