hi guys...I was wondering about something. Is there a way that only those in your address book can contact you? In the last week I've gotten a few random emails from so called Yahoo accounts saying, "click on this" in the body and in the subject "how're you doing?" (that was a porn one) and one today with a link in it saying "don't be late" in the subject with another url in it. I checked the profiles on Yahoo and nothing is in them to indicate who they are. I'm just really worried now...

does anyone know what can be done to stop this? I know only a few have gotten into my mail, but I don't want this to be made into a habit...I blocked the email addresses, but this is worrying me...So, back to square one, can it be set up where only those in your address book can contact you to prevent this from happening?

:hmm: I've never seen such an option but there could be one, I'm not sure. Isn't your Bulk Mail folder active? All junk mail gets delivered in my Bulk Mail folder and I just conveniently empty it... like taking out the trash! :D

I do have it activated, but these came right into my Inbox from people with Yahoo emails...its really weird.

Always report it as spam. Or just delete it.

One of your friends probably has a virus. Double check on that though.

that's what I did (reported them as spam and blocked them) :) I should check on that level though regarding viruses.
I will now...

thanks to the few who've replied :)

yeah, always be safe and don't open emails from people you don't know. even if the subject looks good or whatever, you never know.
i have a yahoo account, and it happens to me too, but i just delete them.
hope it gets better soon. =/

This happened to me once a year or so ago but before I had my own computer, and I just used the library computer, so it didn't worry me too much. I just deleted them without opening them, when I noticed that they were just spam. And in the end the messages stopped coming.
