Wow, I've actually seen a lot of the movies on your list. Can't really say that for anyone else's. I should really change that.

Spirited Away

Can I do my top 10? I figured this out today whilst I was in the shower.

1/ Blade Runner (2007 edit)
2/ Lost In Translation
3/ Pink Floyd's The Wall
4/ Moulin Rouge (Baz Luhrman musical)
5/Mulholland Drive
6/ 2001 A Space Odyssey
7/ Wings Of Desire
8/ The Land Before Time
9/ The life Of Brian
10/ Animal Farm (a George Orwell adaptation not the dodgy porno)

Is this list ok?

I still haven't seen the 2nd or 3rd one. I was going to watch all three in one sitting, then we watched the first one and I think I fell asleep right after or something, because we never did watch the other two. Then, I just lost track of doing it and now here I am, like 5 months later.

I have no favorite, as all three speak to different aspects of my personality, or something to that effect. I treasure them all.

That being said, yes, the ending to the 2nd film is as sublime a thing as you'll see on film.

Seconded. I watched the first two for the first time on the way home from a family trip then saw the third in theaters that night. Not only was that an emotionally exhaustive viewing experience, but it also hit a much-needed post-grad sweet spot that I won't soon forget. Frances Ha had the same effect a day or so beforehand. Have you all seen that?

Before Sunset towers above the other two, but all three are at least really really good.

Frances Ha is good. Margot at the Wedding is my Baumbach of choice. RIP Harris Savides

I think I like Before Midnight the best. Certainly the most intense one. But all three are great and it's really amazing that they have managed to pull something like this off.
