Yup, I remember, we were both doing our best to convert more people into Brothers Bloom fans.

First Images Of Joaquin Phoenix, Jeremy Renner & Marion Cotillard In James Gray's 'Low Life' | The Playlist

James Gray's new film look, as predicted, fantastic. Thrilled to see Joaquin back in the thick of it.

With this & The Master he's certainly making his return in a big way.

I'm not super excited about the subject matter, in the wake of Public Enemies and Boardwalk Empire, but the cast, director and potential soundtrack certainly excite me. Really hokey editing & music cues on this trailer though.

Brit Marling, star and co-writer of Another Earth has a new film, which she also did double-duty on. Different director this time.

I saw previews on that a couple of weeks ago

It look's good, it seems like something a clever film student could have made, simple story, no real budget required, the whole success will be contingent upon deft execution.

I did enjoy Another Earth a lot.

I hope this film is well received,
her next project has a cast that will get some attention

Sweet.

Although "infiltrating group" sounds a lot like this one.

I did hear a short, mostly positive review (Sound of my Voice) on KPCC film-week. I heard two words that kind of spoiled it.

This films can be similar, but will certainly be different.

on Ellen Page

I liked Juno, ok
I thought she was terribly miscast in Inception

but she really won me over in SUPER, so i am a fan now.
I think that movie is one of the better black comedies I have seen in a long time. She and Rainn Wilson really commit to the characters and concept. As good or better than any one in the Eastbound & Down series.

there is a film festival here, where I live, a few years back I stopped going because the quality was not there.

here is a documentary, that may be more prescient than that one Bully, that has gotten all the attention.

I find the taste of the revolving panel of Film Week critics to be pretty poor. They shoot down almost every film that gets discussed. Larry Mantle probably has better taste than any of them.

I really do want to see this, but at the same time, the trailer creeps me the fuck out in ways horror movies absolutely can't, because some people actually act like this or get caught up in schemes like it.

That is unless the twist is that the "cult" is actually right about her, though I doubt it.

Then again I made it through MMMM just fine, so I'm sure I'll watch it. I doubt it's going to roll out too far though as it kind of choked off the starting blocks last week in super limited release. But Fox Searchlight is usually pretty dependable on rolling things out well. Actually come to think of it, MMMM was released by them too. Are we going to get a yearly movie about a cult from them now?
