I'm going to see this on Thursday I think. My brother said he loved it and we have a similar taste in movies so I'm looking forward to it.

This movie proves that working the deli counter is the most depressing job ever.

That and what's really cool is that those were real customers he was serving. Most of the deli scenes were improvised. The lady that helped drive him over the edge was the director's mother though.

I loved that his boss at the deli is the bongo player in the Crazy Dogggz.

the lady that asked for two large (chicken) breasts
when Randy replied, "That's what I'm looking for, two large breasts and brains."

was a real customer and a total improvise.

for all you fans that can't get enough of Randy 'the ram'

here is a link to an interview with the director

'The Wrestler' Director: Fake Sport, Real Pathos : NPR

Mickey Rourke hired a former Israeli commando and cage fighter to be his trainer for the film.
Aronofsky says that every day, Rourke lifted weights twice and consumed about 7,000 calories.

Here is an awesome interview of Mickey by Christopher Walken for Interview Magazine recently. Great stuff with some interesting bits from years ago when they used to hang out and work together. If you like these two actors then you will not want to miss reading this article.

I saw him on Larry King last night with Chris Jericho and it was obvious they were setting it all up for a rumble, Jericho was all offended and angry.... Maybe Mickey will wash his hair for the occasion

HOUSTON (AP) -- Listen up wrestlin' fans: actor Mickey Rourke says he's ready to rumble with WWE superstar Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 25 in Reliant Stadium on April 5.

Rourke portrays professional wrestler Randy the Ram in the acclaimed movie "The Wrestler."

He's signed to wrestle Jericho, for real.

He made a surprise announcement Sunday night on the red carpet before the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles.

He said he was pleased by the acceptance of the movie by all the WWE wrestlers — except Jericho.

Then Rourke said he was going to toss Jericho "around the ring like tossed salad."

Meanwhile, Jericho, appearing on WWE television, said, Rourke was out of line and that he was offended by Rourke's comments. He said Rourke made "a mistake."

Stay tuned.
