yeah, there's some interesting history there in between all the sex...

If by "interesting" you mean "fictional" then you're right. I totally love the show in a guilty pleasure kind of way, but don't rely on it for historical accuracy. Is a new season beginning or something? I don't get Showtime so I have to wait for Netflix. :grumpy:

And the characters look nothing like the portraits of what they actually looked like.

you think?

:hmm:

I mean, they made up stuff they didn't even have to. Like his sister Margaret being married off to the King of Portugal. What was the purpose of making that up?! But it is so addictive.

so she and Charles could have hot sex on a ship... duh

They could have still had hot sex on a ship...to France. Except it was his sister Mary who was in love with Charles and was married off to the King of France. And she didn't kill him either. I mean, the real story was good enough. Well, except for the murder. I guess that spiced it up a bit.

Not that I'm any expert; I just read all about the historical inaccuracies and was amazed.

you're totally ruining this for me...

I love this show! I'm a history nerd as well, and the first few episodes of Season 1 really bugged me because of all the inaccuracies. But then I decided to just not let it bother me, and enjoy all the prettiness. :D I've seen the first 2 seasons, and 3 episodes of Season 3. Must get around to watching the rest at some point!

They're playing season 3 on CBC right now. I already saw it on Showtime but I'm watching it all over again. I think I wore out my dvds of season one. I need season two on dvd now

I love this show too, despite its numerous inaccuracies. I have to admit though, some of the sex is unnecessary. Its as though sometimes they throw in a sex scene just for the hell of it when they don't know what to do next.

But other than that, I love this show. I adore the costumes, the music, the intrigue, and of course the hot men!

My god how I love The Tudors! When I was in London a few weeks ago, I did the Tower tour and even though I know what Henry VII looked like, I was disappointed I did not see a portrait of Jonathan Rhys Myers. And when the Duke of Suffolk was mentioned, my thoughts went directly to the smoking hot Henry Cavill.

Henry Cavill and Jonathan Rhys Myers are so gorgeous

When I was in Cuba earlier this year, this was one of the few English shows on t.v. and I actually quite liked it. Maybe I'll add it to my list of tv series I need to catch up on :hmm:

I have in my hands Season 3: Disc 1. I'm walking to the DVD player as soon as I hit "submit reply." Let the historical soft porn begin.
