Thumbs Up

Just got done watching TFA on Starz. They showed some deleted scenes and a brief Making of BB 8 during the end credits. Good stuff!

It's like if Maul had shown up for a line in TPM and then got killed off like thirty minutes in...what would be the point exactly?

Hey Darth Maul got 2 lines, didn't he?

me too. hadn't seen a second of it since i saw it in IMAX last January.

the second half retains it's plot problems, but i was struck at how visually beautiful and complex it is, all those moving reds and blues, and the really dynamic editing. it was quite stunning to watch.

anyway ...

Same reaction to this trailer as to the previous one. Beautiful visuals with a fantastic sense of scale, stiff line deliveries and clunky dialogue. The latter wouldn't be such a problem but it's like everyone in the trailer sounds exactly the same, with no sense of personality whatsoever. I remember rolling my eyes at the TFA trailers but it was mostly because I found them blatant nostalgia-fests. This is just lifeless. I also can't say that I ever wondered how the Rebels obtained the Death Star plans.

Media focusing heavily on the re-shoots for Rogue One. I'm not sure if we'll ever know if it was in part because of quality issues as they seem to have taken place instead to lighten the tone including changing the entire ending around. You know, because you can't go dark when you're trying to sell bed sheets.

If the work turns out to be remotely competent, then I think Disney will be to blame for ruining something that could have been better.
