Cast and writing turnovers (sometimes it's a good thing) make the show even less consistent. The only constant about the show is the ever-present yearning for yesteryear.

madTv doesn't really even belong in this conversation.
SNL has more talent in it's 'beleaguered' cast of the moment than MadTv has had in it's entire run.
Blizz! Yes! Booboo, boodlely bloop bloop be do...

You are correct, sir.

Light it up. Two of my favorite people on Earth. It's ON tonight. I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight.

I think I've watched the Jeopardy episode with Sean Connery, Bill Cosby, and Sharon Osbourne more times than necessary in the last few weeks

Elisabeth Moss and Fred Armisen: Engaged
Fun Fact: Nobody knew the 'Mad Men' actress and 'Saturday Night Live' comedian were even dating until mid-January, and then a week later, Moss confirmed they plan to marry.

Good for them. I love Mad Men and SNL, and they both seem like great, down-to-earth people.

Last night was honestly one of the least funny episodes I've seen in ages. I thought they'd bring out the goods for Steve Martin, but it was just plain bad. I'm usually fairly forgiving with the show as I've been a fan since I was a kid, but that was painful to sit through. I usually love Laser Cats, and it was the weakest of those sketches. They get friggin' McGyver in the McGruber sketches, and they don't make much of any use of it. Steve Martin's song was awful. The ESPN history sketch was ok, but even that probably went longer than it needed to.

steve martin's monologue was pretty bad too...."you're wondering 'what does he have up his sleeve?'.....i'll tell you, thousands of tiny arm hairs!!"
the opening sketch was okay though, with fred armisen as obama. instead of talking about the issues, he kept turning and saying "but remember the inauguration??.....remember election night???.....remember the convention??.....REMEMBER IOWA??" that was decent the rest of the episode......

I caught the first 30 minutes (before the news) and taped the rest. It's always good when Justin Timberlake is on. And the mothers -

Justin Timberlake should host SNL every week. He's fucking hilarious. "Mother Lover" has fast become one of my top digital shorts. I was losing it. Also, I was so frickin' excited to see The Gibb Brothers talk show again. I love those sketches.
