Holy God I can't wait to see this.

Been a Sacha Baron Cohen fan since the Ali G show and I really don't give a shit if it comes off as just being "dumb funny" to a lot of people, because this guy has a great multi-layering comedic ability.

Of course, I might come back here saying that it's rubbish, but for now, I'm really looking forward to it.

I don't think I want to see it. I love Cohen when he's doing interviews and things like that, but when he starts getting nasty he can get REALLY nasty. Not in the mood to see a bunch of naked men and homosexual jokes.

I haven't heard this much penis talk about a movie since Watchmen came out.

It's been a pretty weak summer for comedies, even if most people think The Hangover is some future classic. I'd be down to see this if I was going with a group of friends, I guess.

Even my husband who, as David put it, likes "dumb funny" thought it was lame. For me, it was like watching an X rated version of something Will Farrell or (and I say this with all due respect because I like some of his movies) Adam Sandler would do.

I think if it was a real movie with actors, the jokes wouldnt have been funny. Its the fact that he's doing things to real, unsuspecting people that gets me. But hey, if you dont like it, thats cool. It just means more U2 tickets for me....wait, wrong forum

I didn't know Bono was in it so that was a nice surprise. I found the movie to be pretty damn funny. The straight dave segment was the best.. I don't know how he made it out of there alive.

8 people walked out of my theater.

I'm not sure if I believe Paula Abdul wasn't in on that, but if she was..she must have a really good sense of humor to sit on those men like that. I thought that part was minutely funny. It felt wrong to laugh, though. :tsk:

I heard she was in on it too, but if thats the case, I think she was pretty convincing....and the squid on the wiener was hilarious

So... still inappropriate for 15 year old girls to go to? I have no desire to see it, but my daughter & her friends want to go, but of course they need an adult. I'm siding on the 'no' option

I would have to say yes, it's inappropriate for a 15-year-old. A lot of the 'funny' bits come from scenes that seem to be there solely for its shock value.

I don't remember that part. :hmm: I might have been rolling my eyes and didn't see it.

Lila, I have to concur with Bo..your motherly instincts will kick in and you'll want to cover her eyes and ears for 97% of the movie.

I cannot imagine my 15 year old niece seeing it but her mother has kept her pretty sheltered. I saw it this afternoon and my friend (jokingly) said he wouldn't allow his son to see it until he's married. I honestly was not expecting it to be anywhere near as sexually raunchy as it was. It borders on being gay porn but even saying that is sort of insulting to gay porn because Bruno is really stupid most of the time. The best parts actually didn't have anything to do with sex but there was just so little of that. There was a father-son sitting in our row and the kid looked like he was around 13 or 14 and he was nervously chewing on a straw the whole time and looked extremely uncomfortable, and the father looked like he wanted to die but they didn't leave.

Just came back from seeing it.

I thought it was a dumb funny. Not a smart funny like Borat. It felt like a Tom Green skit dragged out for too long.

the only part that was close to that was at the start, when he's talking to the model and how it's really hard to think of putting left foot first, etc

I've got a pretty damn high tolerance for these sorta things, bad taste, apparently "offensive" comedy, and it was funny, but it felt so awkward to watch. To use that old car crash cliche, you want to look away but you can't. Some funny bits though, when he pitches his show, the swingers party, the charity song (Snoop Dogg!!) ... you'd have to think some of it was staged though. Like when he's trying to get those kids parents to agree on their children being in the photos... there's no way that was real.

is enough to be R rated i think..

I haven't seen it and I really have no interest..I never saw Borat either but that sounds more intelligent than this. And I'm pretty certain that Barbara Walters moving her hand up and down like a penis is one of the seven signs of the apocalypse.

Barbara Walters went to see Bruno, and Tuesday she told "View" viewers just what they could expect from the film.

Joy Behar had told the audience during a previous show how funny she had found the film. Not Barbara, who especially wanted to warn parents who might take their kids.

"There are close ups of penises and pubic hair, with it wagging," Walters told the camera, moving her hand up and down in an approximation of a penis.

She went on.

"I don't need to know how you are having anal intercourse... I don't like seeing close ups of anal sex... This is a movie that's almost as pornographic as anything pornographic I've ever seen."

The moral?

"For heavens sake, don't take your children!"

I've written a song
that I hope is gonna bring the world together
Put down your guns and bombs
and just make love forever (Okay then)

He's come to heal the world
and make our nations calm down
I am the Austrian Jesus
He is the white Obama (He's the white Obama)

War's just based on hate and fear
Stop fighting North and South Korea
You're both basically Chinese

He's Brüno, dove of peace
Ey yo Brüno, where the bitches at?
You are Brüno, dove of peace
You're a [?], you got the [?]
You are Brüno, dove of peace
(No I love black guys, I'm a chocoholic)
You are Brüno, dove of peace

I have a dream for the Third World: clean water, food and teaching
In every village and every town, a place for anal bleeching

We need to rid the world of hunger
I'm just like Bono except much younger
He is only nineteen
Ich bin Brüno, dove of peace

Ey ey, he gay, he gay
Okay
