RIP Muhammad Ali

Because he was more than boxer.

May you reincarnate in a better USA that is more peaceful and where institutional rascism is now a rare hing, and very few bigots are left .

I was 14 when he refused to be drafted so as to not be sent to fight in Viet Nam. I was beginning to question the war myself. And when he changed his name from Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali and the seni-uproar occurred. I already had loved the styles of Islamic Architecture so I had some positive to think about Islam back then.

It was wonderful to see him participate in The Olympics 1996 opening ceremony even as he struggled against Parkinson's.

Strength to all who miss him .

Lance, where do you place ALI on your Mann rankings? I know you've posted it before but I can't remember.

I'm about to rewatch this week. But from memory, I'd rank it above Blackhat, Public Enemies, and Collateral. Probably would put it right below Miami Vice.

Haven't seen The Keep.
