RIP Don Lane, Our Lanky Yank

Entertainer Don Lane dies

Very sad, and it was well before my time. A great entertainer and larger than life. I don't know what was thought of him/if he was popular whatever in America, but here he was huge.

RIP, I will always remember him singing Saturday Night is the Loneliest Night of the Week, the Mad Mad World of Sports, and him going ape-shit at the guy who trashed Uri Geller and Doris Stokes

I grew up watching Don, and watching the special on 9 the other night, I was amazed how much I remembered. Yep, he was mega in the 80s. Only reason Bert's still as big now is a residual effect of him being on Don's show really. RIP Don.
